Parvancorina

Parvancorina minchami can be considered a good candidate in support of the notion that arthropods were present in the Ediacaran. Parvancorina appears to have had a tall, three-dimentional shape which has been flattened by subsequent compaction. The central axial ridge and the strongly arched anterior 'lobes' may be analogous to the midgut and gastric diverticulae which occur in the Burgess Shale arthropod Bugressia. About ten limbs appear to have been present, which may have been biramous. Scale bar in cms.
