Bunbury Dolphin Therapy

Mission Statement for the Bunbury Dolphin Therapy Support Group Our goal is to build a therapy center which will attract people with disabilities and disorders to get treatment and help through Dolphin therapy in combination with the best available techniques and appropriate other therapies in individualized therapy programs. The encounters will always be done with the utmost respect for the dolphins. We will never feed, chase or harass them and always let the choice be up to the dolphins whether or not they want to interact. We always proceed with caution when approaching the dolphins. It is not our wish nor our intention to frighten these animals or alter their natural behaviour. We want to interact with them in a harmonious way without negatively affecting them in any way. We believe there is a balanced way to interact with them.  We have found that interactions with dolphins are life changing for many people and especially for people with disabilities. We feel that it is a special gift we have been given here in Bunbury, that these magnificent creatures actually seek out interaction with us and enjoy it as well. Dolphins have been interacting with humans since recorded history; there are many verified incidents of dolphins saving humans from dangerous situations and guiding boats through high seas. It is part of their nature to interact with us.
