12th January the Battalion moved to a new camp near Kapujilar, where they made roads and drains. On the 19th they started the difficult march to Hortiack. The next day they reached Gomonic and on the 21st relieved the 7th Dublin Fusiliers in the front line. They improved the defences and undertook training before moving to Stavros on the Gulf of Ofrano on the 21st June. By the 27th July they were at Pazarkia and back at Gomonic the next day. On the 26th August they were at Guvezne and dug in reserve trenches. On the 29th the Glosters moved to the Two Mounds near Mekes. On the 30th the Glosters and the 2nd Camerons attacked Bala. The position was taken and counter-attacks driven off, the Argylls and Royal Scots then attacked Zir. The new positions were consolidated and on the 15th October the Glosters were relieved and on the 18th moved to Hristian-Kamila.
On the night of the 30th they were relieved from the front line back to old Bulgar trenches. On the 31st they attacked near Seres and advanced 2000 yards across difficult ground. Patrols went on to Kavakli Wood. Then they withdrew to bivouacs near Gun Bridge on the River Struma. In November the 2nd Glosters were transferred to the 82nd Brigade and moved to Dimitric. November 19th the Battalion moved to support the 2nd Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry in an attack on Tumbitza Farm, but the attack failed. On the 25th the Battalion was at Jenimah. On the 6th December the Glosters attacked Tumbitza Farm, they fought in Rabbit Wood and again were unable to advance, withdrawing to Kakaraska, having lost 1 officer (Captain Garnier) and 33 men killed, 4 officers and 76 men wounded.
The rest of the year was spent at Jenimah working on defences.
