7th Feb. Captain P. Paulet King (1st Bn, serving as Adjutant) left to join the Iraq Levies. Replaced by Major A.L.W. Newth, DSO, MC.

Whitsuntide Camp was at Tyntesfield.
Annual Training held at Fargo Camp, Larkhill, Salisbury Plain, August.

1925 - Strength: 19 Officers, 451 other ranks.
9th June the King visited Bristol. Bn mounted a Guard of Honour at Temple Meads Station, jointly with the 6th Bn.
Guard commanded by Capt. G.R.A. Beckett, MC, with Lieut. S.G.C. MacWatters, 1 WO and 50 men.
24th May the Bn Colours were presented to the Bn with its' WWI Battle Honours added.

Whitsuntide Camp was at Clevedon 18th-21st May. Capt. & QM John Scaife, MC, DCM died during the Camp.
"It is with the deepest regret that the death of Captain and Quartermaster J. Scaife, MC, DCM must be recorded. For some time he had been in indifferent health, but he insisted in carrying on his duties and whilst under canvas with the Battalion at Whitsuntide, he died suddenly on May 20th. Capt. Scaife was appointed QM of the 4th Bn on reconstruction in April 1920, and for more than 9 years he had worked with unremitting zeal for the welfare of the Battalion. During that period he won the esteem and affection of every Officer and man, and through his death, the Battalion and the Territorial Army have suffered a very great loss."

Annual Training held at Porthcawl.

June 1938 notification arrived that the 4th Bn The Gloucetsershire Regiment would be converted into the:
4th (City of Bristol) Battalion The Gloucestershire Regiment (66th Searchlight Regiment) T.A.
The date that the order would come into effect was 1st November.

July, the RSM and 2 PSI's went to The School of Electric Lighting, Gosport.
19th September the Battalion was notified to be ready to mobilize due to the situation in Europe.
Training for anti-aircraft duties began and positions for guns around Bristol, Filton, and Portishead were reconnoitred.
26th September the order for the Battalion to embody was received and by the next morning the men were at their war stations. They remained so until 5th October, when the order came to stand down and the Battalion was disembodied.
