ANDERSON _ Ian Halliday Anderson of Calgary, passed away Friday, September 26, 1997, at the age of 61 years. Ian was
born in Trochu, Alberta in 1935 and grew up in Drumheller before moving to Calgary. Ian will be lovingly remembered by his
two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Mark Eilers, and Darlene and Richard Faust; and four grandchildren, Daphne and
Juliette Eilers, Tanis and Melanie Faust. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn Skoko of Calgary, and his brother Freeman
Anderson of Victoria; and four nephews and five nieces. Ian was predeceased by his father in 1958, mother in 1983 and
brother Bob in 1977. A Memorial Service and celebration of Ian's life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel
of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North), today, October 1, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. David J. Crawford of The

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Truman Eaton Bates in 1994. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce and Marshall Stoddart of North Vancouver, B.C., and Betty Leech of Calgary; and a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Gail Bates of Calgary; as well as by five grandchildren, Tracy (Bruce), Cindy (Randy), Brad (Lesli), Kelly (Michael), Brett (Jennifer); and twelve great-grandchildren. (10/1/97) CHRISTIE _ Margaret (Margie) passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Agape Manor on September 28, 1997 at the age of 76 years. Margie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Don Johnston (Nola), David and William (Karen); her grandchildren, Lee Johnston, Lana Watson (Dale) and Scot Johnston; her sister Evelyn Stratton; and her brother Craig Johnston (Connie) of B.C. Margie will also be sadly missed by numerous other relatives in Alberta and Ontario. (10/1/97) CORLEY _ Victor Angus Corley, beloved husband of Joan, of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on September 30, 1997 after a long courageous struggle with cancer, at the age of 66 years. Born and raised in Lindsay, Ontario, Vic was devoted to hockey and played for the Lindsay Muskies. He was employed in sales with Abex Industries in Lindsay and transferred to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1958 and then to Calgary in 1961. In 1966, he joined the Bendix Corp. (Allied Signal) until his retirement, having spent all of his working life in the automotive industry. In his later years, he developed a passion for carpentry, building bird houses, feeders, and patio planters for his many relatives and friends. Besides his loving wife, Vic is survived by his children and grandchildren, Vicki Williams and her husband Dale of Edmonton, Jane Corley and her son Andrew of Calgary, Richard and Karen Corley and their children, Vanessa and Devin, of Airdrie. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Helen, Jean, Wim, Nan, Bob, Jim, and Erna, and their families, all of Lindsay, Ontario. (10/1/97) GREGGS _ Robin Kathleen (nee Howland), BA, BSc, MEd, PhD (Calg), July 13, 1997 after a long and vigorous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Robert, she is survived by her children and their families: Darcie, Don, Tom, Sam; Jonathon and Joan; Susan, Dave, Jamie, William; Melissa and Tom. Also by her brother Laird and his wife Hazel Howland, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Kathleen (Deakin) and Harold Howland. Robin was born in Winnipeg in 1932 and raised in The Pas and Stonewall, Manitoba. She won the Governor General's Award for her high school achievements and attended Queen's University for her first degree. After raising four children and numerous other vertebrates in Kingston, Ontario, she and Bob returned to Calgary where Robin attended the University of Calgary. She proudly received her doctorate in Educational Psychology on June 5, 1997. Robin was an artist, educator, counsellor and researcher; and a lifelong member of the Anglican Church. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the exceptional staff and volunteers of the Rosedale Hospice, Homecare and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, particularly to Drs. (10/1/97) LOREE _ On September 28, 1997, Gregory George Loree of Morinville, Alberta passed away in his 54th year at the Sturgeon General Hospital, finally finding peace from his suffering in his battle with cancer. Greg was born in Carmen, Manitoba on December 30, 1942 and spent the first twelve years (and many summers) in Roland, Manitoba. He moved, with his family to Edmonton, Alberta in 1954, where he began his lifelong career of trucking. He leaves to mourn his passing, beloved wife Barbara; one son Dean (Leslie) Regehr and grandsons, Mitchell and Jamie, all of Sherwood Park; four daughters, Stacie Regehr of Sherwood Park, Cari of Millwoods, Lori of Edmonton and his baby girl Anna (Israel) with unborn grandbaby of Morinville; three older brothers, Calvyn (Rosemarie), Warren (Joe) and (Veronica), Dwight (Barbara), all of Calgary; one sister Jane (Olaf) Karbinski of Calgary; and younger brother Jamie (Pat) of Peace River; Barb's family, Mom Ruth Baggett of Linaria; and four brothers, Ken, Robert (Bob) and (Melody), Joe (Coral) and David; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends. Brian was born on December 24, 1954 in Sudbury, ON and grew up in Nova Scotia. He lived in Calgary for the past twenty years but remained a Maritimer in his heart. He was a loving father, husband, brother and friend. (10/1/97) McCORMICK _ Terrence Donald John "Terry" died at the Rockyview Hospital on September 27, 1997 surrounded by his family, in his 63rd year after a brief struggle with cancer. He is survived by Donna; their three children, daughter Cathie Legge (Ross); sons, Kerry and Chris; and special granddaughter Allison Legge. Terry is also survived by his brother Bob (Mimi); two sisters, Pat Stewart (Fletcher), Janice Johnson (Jack); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Terry was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and James; and his son Shawn. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Terry was an avid sportsman. He was past member of the Winnipeg and Calgary Football Referee Association. He was a longtime member of the Y.M.C.A. Terry's passion was basketball and he devoted his life to playing, coaching and encouraging others with his love of the game. (9/30/97) RICHARDS _ Mrs. Esther Richards of Calgary, formerly of the Horn Hill district, passed away at the Bowview Manor, Calgary on Monday, September 29, 1997, at the age of 94 years. Esther was born on March 23, 1903, in the Antler Hill area, the second youngest of nine children. She received her education in the rural school at Antler Hill and at Penhold. On December 26, 1929, Esther was united in marriage to Evan Richard. The couple then moved to the Horn Hill district, and enjoyed a life in the farming community. Esther was a lifetime member of the Clearview Women's Institute and the Horn Hill United Farm Women of Alberta. Esther enjoyed her home, swapping recipes and visiting her friends. She is survived by her daughter Joan; and her husband Ray Whitehead of Calgary; her two granddaughters, Cindy and Karen Whitehead of Calgary; a sister-in-law Phyllis McAllister of Innisfail; and numerous nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by her husband Evan in 1986. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Wednesday evening, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Thursday, October 2, 1997, at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Dr. B.H. (10/1/97) SHUTTLEWORTH _ Bernice Gertrude Shuttleworth, at the age of 95 years, passed away quietly with family members present September 28, 1997 at the Foothills Auxiliary Hospital, Calgary. She was predeceased November 11, 1979 by her husband Edmund Phin Shuttleworth. She will be deeply missed by her family, her daughter Joy Leinweber and special son-in-law Bud; her four grandchildren, Sherrie (Mike) Leinweber-Morton, Dean (Shirley) Leinweber, Chris (Wanda) Leinweber and Shannan (Brent) Campbell; and six great-grandchildren. (10/1/97) WATKINS _ Mrs. Dorothy Watkins, beloved wife of Mr. Donald Watkins of Calgary, formerly of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on September 28, 1997, at the age of 73 years. Dorothy was a resident of the Glenmore Auxiliary for the past seven years. Besides her loving husband, Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Jr. and Britta, Tim and Ryta, all of Calgary; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice and Bill Matity of Riverhurst, Saskatchewan, and Carole Carrozzier of Venice, Italy; eight grandchildren, Martin, Adam, Thomas, Stephanie, Kiri, Tyler, Gabriella and Cheyenne. She is also survived by four sisters, Gladys Olson, Kay and her husband Robert Laurens, all of Calgary, Barbara and her husband Ed Erickson, Marlene and her husband Rob Neil, all of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and a brother Pat Clark of Regina, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by son-in-law Paolo, brothers, Jack and Don, sisters, Pearl and Phyllis.
