Margaret was predeceased by her husband Magnus ("Danny") Ingiborg Danielson in 1993, and her mother and father, Ingibjorg and Valdimar Sigvaldason. ENGEL _ Fred W. Engel passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 1997 at the Peter Lougheed Centre at the age of 88 years. Fred is survived by his loving family, two sons, Richard (Faye) of Airdrie, Garth of Fairmont, B.C. and daughter Kay (Bud) Hurl of Calgary; as well as six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Edith married Frank Geider on February 19, 1947. They immigrated to Canada in 1951. Edith was involved with ballet and later classical music and opera were her hobbies. Edith is survived by her son Randy; and daughter and son-in-law, Michaela and Douglas Young; and grandson Darren, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her three brothers and sister-in-law, Walter and Edith Bednar, Otto and Elizabeth Bednar, and Heinz and Pamela Bednar; her two sisters, Gitta Martin, all of Calgary; and Ingrid Mann of B.C. She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Appollonia; her sister Gertrude, and her brother Helmuth. (9/13/97) GIBBS _ Dulcie A.E., died in Leduc Hospital on September 11, 1997, aged 73 years. Dulcie was born at Southland-On-Sea, England on April 10, 1924. The family moved to London where she attended school and grew to her adult years. During World War II she was a member of the staff of SOE in London. SOE was a War Office unit engaged in intelligence gathering and espionage in occupied France. Dulcie married Reginald Gibbs, then a Canadian airman, on July 3, 1945. In 1946, she emigrated to Canada and for five years resided in Saskatoon while her husband attended university. In 1951 the family moved to Winnipeg and in 1952 to Calgary which was her home thereafter. She is deeply mourned and sadly missed by daughter Rosemary (James) Giles, grandson Noel and granddaughter Emily; by son Michael (Lori), granddaughter Whitney and grandson Dylan; by Hon. Reginald Gibbs; and by sisters, Mary Young of London, England and Phyllis Last of Sydney, Australia. Dulcie was enormously compassionate not only for the members of her family but also for the needy in society. In the last twenty years of her life, quietly and unobtrusively, she did what was within her abilities to alleviate the lot of the truly unfortunate. We will not see her like again. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17. Marie was born on June 13, 1919 in Lacombe, Alberta and has resided in Alberta all her life. Her family ranched near the Ghost Dam since the early 1940's. She will be fondly remembered by her two cousins, Colleen Von Pless of California, and Mary Kelly of Ontario; and her two companions, Dorothy Edge and Robert Urwin. Marie was predeceased by her first husband Elmer McDonald in 1963 and her second husband Robert Guy in 1989. (9/13/97) HEAPHY _ Jackie C.M. (nee Core) of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away at the Sudbury General Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 1997 at the age of 54. Jackie is survived by her husband Don of Sudbury; her children, Patrick of Sudbury, Shawn of Switzerland, and Cori of St. Thomas, Ontario. She will also be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother Alice Lalonde (nee Core) of Sudbury; her brother John Lalonde of Montreal; and her sister Joanne Hansen (nee Lalonde) of Calgary. Jackie leaves to mourn, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will remember her always as a happy and free spirit dedicated to her children. Jackie graduated from the Marymount School of Nursing in 1965 and married Don in 1966. She was a member of the Idelwylde Golf & Country Club and loved her time on the links. She was a nurse in many units of the Sudbury General Hospital and was dedicated to giving care to those in need and will always be in the hearts of those she touched. Lorne was born in Calgary on Sunday, August 3, 1924 and raised in Grainger, AB. He was based in Halifax, NS serving in the Royal Canadian Navy for twenty-five years, then relocated to Calgary in 1969 where he has since resided. Lorne is survived by his loving family, Jim Little and his wife Alexis of Dartmouth, NS, Carol and her husband Kal Krishnan of Pittsburg, CA, Elaine Little of Edmonton, Colleen and her husband Dale Reid of Edmonton, Debby and her husband Brian Herron of Calgary, Andrew Little of Victoria, BC, and Gerald Ritchie of Parksville, BC; as well as seven grandchildren. Joyce was born in Faversham, Kent, England on Saturday, February 16, 1929 and came to Canada with her family in May of the same year. She resided in the Montreal area of Quebec until 1984, then moving to Calgary to be with her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, Joyce is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Clair Edwards, and Joanne and Ken Nuttall; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine McHale; three grandson, Terry Carbonnell and Stacey Wright, Dale Carbonnell, and Alex McHale; her granddaughter Crystal McHale; and her great-granddaughter Erica Carbonnell. (9/14/97) McINNES _ Leonard Douglas McInnes of Calgary, passed away at the Forest Grove Nursing Home on September 12, 1997 at the age of 71 years. Leonard was born in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan where he attended school. He came to Calgary in 1945 and was employed with White Rose Gas Company as a truck driver. In 1956, he moved to Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan to go farming. In 1987, Leonard returned to Calgary where he has since resided. He served with the P.P.C.L.I. at Currie Barracks. Leonard is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marno and Margaret of Vancouver, B.C., Howie and Cheryl of Calgary; and a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Bruce Inverarity of Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan; six grandchildren, Regan, Lance, Pauline, Chantra, Shelby and Allan. He is also survived by three sisters, Betty Laxdal of Calgary, Bernice and her husband Fred Berard of Sylvan Lake, Maria Newton and Allan Posti of Eckville; and his sister-in-law Anne Grassick of Calgary. Carrie was born in Blackburn, England, November 14, 1902 and came to Calgary with her family at age seven. In 1924 she married Douglas Press and continued to reside here ever since. Carrie is survived by her sons, Douglas (Mae) and Ed (Olwyn); four grandchildren, Maureen, Kevin, Stephen and Judy; as well as six great-grandchildren; and a brother Frank (Dora) Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Sebastiano was born on January 30, 1917 in Sepino, Italy. He was a veteran of World War II and immigrated to Canada in 1955. He was then followed by several other family members and friends. Besides his loving wife, Sebastiano is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Antonio and Eufemia Tiberio; two daughters and a son-in-law, Giuseppina Iuliani, and Marianna and Antonio Maione, all of Calgary; as well as fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Carmela DaNello of Montreal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. (9/14/97) WHEATCROFT _ James Clifford (Red) Wheatcroft, beloved husband of Olive Wheatcroft of Calgary, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, September 11, 1997 at the age of 80 years. Cliff Wheatcroft, a self-made man with an inventive and entrepreneurial spirit, spent many years as a highly successful cattle broker. His business interests included J.C. Wheatcroft Co. Ltd., Midnapore Land and Cattle Co., Alberta Western Beef, T.W.K. Leasing Co. and Isabella Beef. He was greatly respected by colleagues, family, and friends for his integrity, tenacity and his generosity of spirit. Cliff was an adventurer who was the "captain of his ship and master of his fate". He created a wealth of rich memories including endless summers on the family houseboat, soaring adventures in his home-built airplane, and gentle days of sailing on his yacht in Mexico. His ready laugh, stimulating conversations, and supportive pride in the efforts and achievements of those around him will be greatly missed. He remains an inspiration to all who knew him. Besides his loving wife, Cliff is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, and three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Doug Heathfield of Toronto, ON, Judy and John Dudar of Halifax, NS, Jon Wheatcroft and Laura Evans of Ottawa, ON, Tim and Roberta Wheatcroft, and Mavis Wheatcroft and Patrick Plichon, all of Calgary; as well as fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Margaretta and Herbert Thorndyke of Mallorca, Spain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his first wife Isabel and his two sons, Kelly and Michael.
