REUNION 2003

On August 30th and 31st of 2003, RRCUV had its first ever Reunion in San Francisco, California. Although we were small in number, it was an emotional time for all. The joy of seeing some of the people we suffered and sacraficed so much with really can't be put into words. Deepest thanks go to Mike "Speedy" Gonzales and Bob "Polly" Burgan for making it happen. Thanks also go out to Ed Escalante, Max Coleman, Jim Bare, Ralph Kennedy, Richard Creer, Merle Tarr, and Ed Perhay for taking time out of thier busy lives to attend. We WILL be doing this again within the next few years and we hope all of you can find time to attend!!!

Another picture of the group. The fatigues that Ed Perhay has on are the actual fatigues that he wore in Viet Nam. The bill on his hat has the same silly little bend in it that it had 35 years ago! Simply amazing!

Max Coleman and Merle Tarr. For those of us who had the honor and priviledge of serving with either or both of these two outstanding NCOs, much is owed. Thier dedication and leadership made a difficult mission much easier to accomplish. There were other fine leaders I'm sure, I just had the distinct pleasure of serving with both.

We owe a debt of thanks to our wives who supported us and our reunion.

Ed Escalante, Bob Burgan and Ralph Kennedy. After 35 years, we found we had something in common. The three of us "hardened criminals" all had received an Article 15. Ed and I for reporting in to Okaland a little late and Bob for having his fatigue pants pegged too tight!
