Tires
The weight of tires does count against the maximum load of the vehicle. A car's front tires must both be the same type, and the rear tires must be the same type (but tires needn't match front to rear). If this rule is broken, the driver gets a +1 penalty on his Drive/Ground skill.

Spare tires carried as cargo take up one space. Although they have the same cost and weight, you cannot mix tires from different size vehicles. There are two exceptions. Luxury cars and station wagons use the same tires, as do vans, campers and pickups.
Tires may be modified:
- Steelbelting increases the cost and weight of any tire by 50%, and adds 25% to its DP (round down).
- Radial Tires add 150% to cost, 20% to weight and substracts 1 DP. Radial Tires give a -1 modifier on Drive/Ground. Radial modifications are applied after steelbelting.
- Off-Road (OR) Tires add 20% to cost and 5 to weight (not 5%!). OR tires give a -1 modifier on Drive/Ground while off-road.
- Fireproofing doubles the cost of any tire after any other modifications.
Important note: No tire may be both off-road and radial!
