INC # 173464

at 1411 97-07-15 3b18 (1754 Carla Young and 1487 Sylvia Lim) spotted a rolling stolen n/b at 33/main. Blue Toyota Levan with 2 occupants, male and female.

K75 (1354 Hal Hamilton and PD Ike) started responding as did Y4 (494 Linda Stewart and 1183 Rodger Shepard) .. then Z44 (1437 Jackson and 1450 Scally) as well as Z41 (1054 Kirkland and 1200 Kodak) joined in.

They followed/chased the vehicle around in circles for a bit and into the cemetary .. Linda in Y4 was broadcast unit, she advised they were s/b through the cemetary, no traffic. Car 10 (931 Boyd) joined in at this point.

The veh and pursuers left the cemetary and did a couple of turns, ending up s/b on Fraser. Dave Boyd said that was enough and to call it off. One of the zulu units (Z41) said they were just going to follow but not pursue a few blocks behind.

They kept it in sight and it went e/b on 59 and s/b on Knight. When it got to the bridge, car 10 said to advise Richmond and we had better send a unit and a dog over to assist them. So essentially the chase was officially back on.

Z41 broadcast over the Knight Bridge and s/b to Westminister Highway, then e/b on Westminister Hy and across the Alex Fraser Bridge. AT this point Delta joined in. Delta set up a spike belt at 116 and 72a, but I couldn't find out if the veh went across it or not.

Anyway, that was the termination point.

As they approached 116 and 72a, car 10 said "We had better take them out" ..Z41 advised "They have been taken out" ... after a few seconds Car 10 said to send an ambulance, that one was required for a dog bite. Of course we didn't know at the time that it was he who had been chomped.

According to Z41 or Z44 (can't remember) he got at least 3 bites and his pant leg ripped from the crotch all the way down.

Car 10 and the suspect ended up at ST Pauls about 2 or 3 beds apart in the emergency.

Both male and female were taken into custody at the scene, the male driver suffered minor injury due to an mva at the termination point.

... that's as much as I know.
