STORY BEHIND THE POEM POSSESSION

One night Rich Rabinovitch and Geoff Dyer
were at the PIC (Public Information Counter) when a young lady came in
asking for Bill Chung from the communications center. It seems that her
friend, who was sitting outside in the car, completely naked, was possessed
by demons.

The only way that these demons could be
exorcised was if she drove around the city completely naked and drove through
a total of seven Shell gas stations. In order for it to work to maximum
effect though, a policeman that they knew, Bill Chung, had to accompany
them.

Thinking that the might just have another
nut case on their hands, Rich ordered an ambulance for a potential Sec
24 arrest (that’s the Mental Health Act that allows us to arrest mentally
disturbed persons). They then called the communication center where Bill
Chung was working.

Apparently he knew this lady and advised
Rich and Geoff that she was completely normal and that it was part of her
religious beliefs. So the ambulance was cancelled and the lady was allowed
to proceed on her quest.

We never did get word if this was a girlfriend,
an ardent admirer or just another loon that Bill had come across during
his travels.
