Missing Member

.

The call came in to nine one one, just the other day,

A report about a missing cop, the voice was heard to say.

At Cambie and Cordova, a police car sitting here tonight,

Doors open, motor running, lights a flashing bright.

.

No cops around, no servicemen, I wonder where they be?

Send a unit to investigate, to see what they can see.

Steve Shaw quickly headed down, the mystery getting stronger,

Would it be a foot chase, with the members gone much longer?

.

Who was the missing member, who had the car assigned?

Would he find his crumpled body, in the alleyway behind?

The motor pool was canvassed, to find out what to do?

Robert Gough had signed it out, part of the roadblock crew.

.

Steve searched round the area, no sign of Robert found,

He even looked inside the trunk, and under on the ground.

All members getting worried, speculation run amok,

Where oh where was Robert?  When suddenly some luck!

.

The Sergeant from the roadblock crew, was called and told the news,

He found Robert in the locker room, wearing nothing but his shoes.

So, one mystery had been solved, he was in there safe and sound,

Now to get the car back in, by sending Robert back around.

.

It seems that when the roadblock crew, had finished off their shift,

Robert jumped in with the rest, and had himself a lift.

Too bad that he’d been driving, it seems that he forgot,

About the car that he signed out, and drove right to that spot.
