Boom Car

.

Terri-Lynn a new recruit, and her partner Ryan Wray,

Started out at two o’clock, on a bright and sunny day.

Equipment all stored safely, things were looking good,

A nice new unmarked vehicle, with bright and shiny hood.

.

Steve Shaw and Darren Foster, were seated in the back,

There to judge performance, and to keep the two on track.

Everything went smoothly, as they got into the car,

But young T.L. was destined to, become the latest star.

.

Radio was turned on, the calls began to flow,

They logged into the m.d.t., and all was set to go.

Her seat had been adjusted, to the furthest forward point,

Mirrors were repositioned, they soon could leave the joint.

.

She looked out all around her, and sure the coast was clear,

Then grabbed the shifter handle, and put the car in gear.

Turning ‘round to look out back, and ready to pull out,

She gave the gas a little tweak, when Steve let out a shout.

.

“BOOM” the car then clobbered, the three foot concrete block,

Sliding it right out of place, and they all began to talk.

The scrapes along the bumper, could be seen there plain as day,

What would her Sergeant think of this, what now could she say.

.

The ribbing started quickly, as Steve and Darren chuckled,

Laughing long and loudly, they could barely get unbuckled.

Advice was given quickly then, there for all to see,

When backing up a vehicle, shift to “R”, not “D”.
