Sir Fuzz... Just had a look. Super spot. I shall return in the near future. Excellent work and nice to see we can give the brothers down south a run for their money. Take care and I shall do my best to avoid entry into your poem collection. I must admit I know some of the members you note and I had some big smiles. Keep up the excellent job. This page is not only in my bookmark file, but at the top of it. Than you so much for sharing these with us. I think police men and women do a marvelous job and it is nice to know there is a light more serious side to your job. Keep up the good work. hello, my name is Jamie Reed and I anted to tell you I enjoyed your homepage. I to am a police officer and work here in the US. I am also a certified accident reconstructionist, firearms instructor, and I teach several different areas of law enforcement here in the US. Out of curiousity what is the law on carring firearms in Canada. I have a friend who moved just outside of Calgary and I am thinking of visiting on my next vacation and am curious on carring concealed weapons and if there are any provisions for visiting police officers. I doubt it is but I figured I would find out, Ill feel naked without my gun. Where i work here in the US it makes you want to sleep with your weapon. Anyway keep up the homepage, I enjoyed it. Hello Tom,
I jsut thought I'd tell you a little more about myself in case you'd like to write back. I'm a home designer and draftsperson for Hodder Construction in Kamloops. I'm 5'9" tall, have reddish-brown hair and brown eyes.
I am first and foremost an artist, but I needed to have a steady income to feed the dogs, cat, horse and a 17-year-old daughter. I've been on my own for 10 years and manage okay, but I'd like to have someone to share the joys and sorrows of life with. I love your web page--you are very creative, and your poems are really something. I hope some publisher is smart enough to pick them up. If you'd like to write back my email address is: serene1@rocketmail.com. Hope to hear from you. Marti Adrian

For your info the workshop program for next week is changed. Speaker is Colin McArthur, topic will be " Alternate processing and manipulation", such things as Polaroid transfer, toning, digital photography, multi-exposure techniques etc may be covered. Original speaker was called out of town, so this months topic will be in the November showcase spot.

Hi there! Its me, Heather from Data Entry - I've been reading many of your poems over the last week, and I love them! You're very talented and witty. I especially appreciate some of the "story behind the poem" bits - they give a lot of insite into the VPD and into police work in general ... well done! I've shared the site address with a friend from the states who's a cop down there - I'm sure he'll enjoy it as well! I also find it refreshing that you can keep your wits about you amongst all the garbage you see day in and day out while policing our fair city. Despite your years of experience you continue to find the beauty and humor that does exist in life. Thank you for sharing a bit of that with all of us. It always brightens our days in Data Entry when we see a new poem floating around the office!

Congratulations on your latest awards! They are well deserved.

Loved your latest poem on APEC! After reading the story, I realized how "different" it is to write this "style" - not knowing the person personally. The RCMP DO have their own stories - just as funny. But it is a differnt way to write of them. I liked it.

Tom, Terrific website. I am a Retired Lt., City of Fairfax, VA PD. I'm really enjoying your poems and humorus insight about life wher the "rubber meets the road." I am a program manager at CALEA. See CALEA@CALEA.org, look up staff. I just had a honeymoon September in Vancouver and Victoria. Will be returning in march. CALEA will be holding its quarterly meeting at the Hyatt near the Convention Center. Looking forward to riding a bike through Stanley Park again. Vancouver PD will have some folks over to our conference. Maybe I can buy you a beer. Keep up the good work---and BE CAREFUL; its a jungle out there!

I was browesing through law enforcement web sites and I was glad to see that there was somebody from Vancouver. I found your site very informative, and I especially liked the snapshots of Vancouver. The poems... well I don't know. It's interesting. I also had a question for you. There was a book published recently by a former Vancouver Police Officer. The book is entitled 'Shots Fired' , but I can't recall the authers name. I really enjoyed the book so much so that I read it in a day. If you know what I'm talking about I'd like to hear your opinion on it, on how accurate of a description of being a police officer the book is. Also since the auther was with the department from 1975 - 1986 you might be able to give me some insight on what he was like to work with. The auther was involved in a shooting and ended up killing somebody. He was later diagnosed with PTSD. A man was shot several months ago emerging from a jewlerry store at Granville Mall.
I often heard from other police officers that a lot of police officers who are involved in a shooting end up leaving the force, do to stress, PTSD... Can a police officer still be a police officer after he is forced to take someone's life even if he was fully justified in doing so? and how could these officer be given more support?

John

You look like a really nice guy, Tom. Your poems are very clever and amusing! I will visit here again. I'm still chuckling about the pigs! Did I mention I'm an English instructor? You can't imagine how much your poetry has made me laugh. Through a year of volunteer work with the Medicine Hat Police Services victim assistance unit I have gotten to know a lot of the officers quite well, and your poetry reminds me a lot of the guys and the crazy, yet hilarious situations that they have gotten themselves into. I especially enjoyed the practiacal joke peom, as I have been the unlucky person at the end of many officers practiacal jokes. Keep up the good work, I am going to tell all my friends of the froce where to reach you. I am sure that they will laugh as much as I did while reading your poems.

I have taken a peek at more then my share of www pages, especially if they have some poetry posted. More often then not I glance and move on. Your page however is one of the best I have ever seen. Your poetry combined with your humor is outstanding. I only had time to read for a short bit, but I have bookmarked your page and I am sure I will come back and once again delight in your poetry wit. You deserve the awards you have won. If I were a judge.....I'd give you 1st Prize without a blink.
