With the close of 4th World nightclub he became actively involved with DJ Christos as they pioneered some of the first events in the Townships and Universities. The first "Bash" was held in the Community centre of Tembisa. The word spread fast from there and they set up several gigs from Medunsa, TNT, Westville, Club Gemini in Pretoria, Cape Town, Mafikeng, Mmabatho, Durban, PE, Bloemfontein, you name it. He also played in neighbouring countries like Lesotho, & Botswana. Some of the big tours he participated in included, Sony Music promotional tour of 1995 and The Sony, Radio Metro, Rhythm Nation Tour in 1996-97. During his DJ career that spans over 15 years, he also played in Greece for a short time.
In 1995 established Phat Kat Records and has produced many albums for the label, some of which include, Sharon Dee, Amaru (The Producers Cut), 2 DJs & a Keyboard Player (Sekele & Choose), Slow Jams 1, 2 & 2000, Static Plastic (his debut album), MDC, BM Fan, FOUR and Masaluta. He has also done remixes for groups such as, Light Year, Acoustic Kitchen, Citrus, and Antigravity. Current projects include Slow Jams 2001, Oracle - "Bushmusic" with its debut release, "Xeree", featured on World Moods Vol 2 as well as DeltaWaves - PhazeOne. He currently has a regular slot on YFM every Saturday between 13:00 and 13:30 where he plays some of the greatest House classics. These mixes and more are on the Mixes page. DJ Static P's real name is Petro Stathoussis and he is a qualified MCSE and Sound Engineer with 9 years experience working for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (S.A.B.C). "Static Plastic" is what he call's vinyl and is also of his Production Name.
