University Bicycle Center (UBC) is a National BMX racing team. BMX stands for bicycle motocross. BMX was a popular sport in the early 70's and it is surging in popularity in recent years. This renewed popularity is in part, related to the sports presence on ESPN. Today, family members of all ages are participating in the sport. Unlike football or baseball, BMX is a year-round sport. Over 7,000 riders regularly race at one of the 15 racing facilities in Florida. There are over 35,000 NBL riders in the US. Through UCI affiliated federations, there are more than 60,000 licensed BMX riders in 43 countries.
