Vijay Arun, from Madras, learnt the art of playing Carnatic Music on the Electric Guitar, under the guidance of  Late Sri R.Subbaraju (Disciple of Late Chembai Sri. Vaidhyanadha Bhagavathar ), from 1991 to 1995.

He started giving performances from 1993 onwards and the cities in India where he has
played include New Delhi, Bangalore, Tiruvarur, Secundarabad, Thiruvaiyaru, and  Madras
to name a few.

In mid 95, he came under the illustrious guidance of Padmasree Sri. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman and Sri P.S.Narayanaswamy, under whom he is continuing to enhance & expand his knowledge of carnatic music.

Vijay Arun has performed in the Music Academy, Madras in their special series called "Vaadhya Madhuri" well known for its presentation of the best instrumental talents in the field of Carnatic Music.

He has also performed in other reputed sabhas like Bharat Kalachar, Indian fine Arts, Laya Lavanya, Sri Rama Samaj and many others. He has also given performances in Doordarshan (both Madras and National T.V) and many times for All India Radio, Madras station.

He has also been a member of the "Swara Laya Mela" (SriSriSri Mahaperiyavaa Group) conducted by the world famous Ghatam artist Sri Vikku Vinayakaram. An album featured with them titled "Moon Over Isles" is available on CD being released by BMG Crescendo. Other than that a solo audio album featuring him has been released by SARAGAM Audio Company back in India.

He has given lecture demonstrations for the Rio-Grande guitar society at Las cruces, NM and for the BS Music Students at the Department of Music in NMSU. He has also performed at the "Mini World-1996" at NMSU, the Indian Classical Music Society in Chicago,IL , the Hindu Temple of Riverdale in Atlanta, GA
and for the Euphonic Productions, Atlanta, GA
.
Vijay Arun currently works as a software engineer in Atlanta performing music part time.
