MY COMMITMENT TO YOU AS A VALUED CLIENT

If the venue is within a reasonably short travelling distance from my home (Harrow or Watford) , I am happy to go and take a look at it before the event to familiarise myself with the dance area. If it’s a public location, I can usually visit beforehand without you having to be there.

I will arrive at an appropriate time for my performance properly prepared. If I am delayed for any reason, I will keep you informed as circumstances unfold.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to fulfil your booking, due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, I will do my best to inform you at the earliest opportunity. I will also endeavour to find another dancer of equal professional standing to fulfil the booking on my behalf.

When presenting Middle Eastern dance, I will conduct myself in a professional and dignified manner toward you as my client and your guests. My performance will be tasteful, elegant and the movements involved will not be crude, vulgar or sexually suggestive and I will be properly attired at all times.

I will supply my own music to dance to, which will be discussed beforehand and will be appropriate for your booking. If you have a DJ booked to play music for your function, I am happy to contact them myself beforehand to make sure it is acceptable to play my CD’s through their sound system. You just need to give me their contact details.

Once I have finished performing, I will return to the changing area to change back into my normal clothes. Once my fee has been paid, I will then discreetly leave the venue. Occasionally I have been invited to stay for a while to celebrate with guests before I leave, I am happy to do this if am invited, but otherwise I do not intrude in private celebrations.

IMPORTANT THINGS I HAVE TO MENTION

Certain special dates (for example: Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) need to be booked as far in advance as possible. I require confirmation in writing and 50% fee payment in advance for such dates.

I am happy for people to take photographs (no flash please) or use video cameras during my performance. The lighting in some venues is not always condusive to good photography, but if you do get some good results, I would love to have some copies to use in my portfolio. If you use a digital camera, the photographs can usually be emailed to me.

I would ask that if you should wish to cancel my performance booking for any reason, that you inform me as soon as possible, so that I can consider taking an alternative booking if one should arise. If you should wish to issue your own contractual agreement for me to sign, I am quite happy to do so after having checked the details thoroughly.

In the very unlikely event that I should encounter any disrespectful behaviour towards me while I am performing, such as intimate personal contact or the use of foul language, I would require someone to remove the offending person from the dance space as soon as possible, so as not to disrupt the entertainment for the other guests.

TASTEFUL ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL THE FAMILY.

BELLY DANCER EXTRAORDINAIRE - A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY

This beautiful form of dance, known to all as "The Bellydance", (the name given to it by Saul Bloom - proprietor at a Chicago fair in 1893 after his traditional dance troupe called Dance du Ventre did not attract any customers - the name stuck), encompasses dance from Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco and Greece. Rather like Ballroom Dance/Latin American Dance, it too has its different styles and flavours depending on which country you care to taste.

Belly Dancing has many different emotional areas where done the correct way can induce a wonderful self confidence, and spiritual well being. Bringing the audience into a state of hypnosis, with it's many props of veil, sword, zils (finger cymbals), tambourine, stick, trays and scarves you can cover a whole gamut of emotions, taking the audience through passion, sadness, happiness and longing.

The origins stem from the urbanized folk music and dance from the middle east (This is called Baladi - meaning 'of my country') was originally a birth dance celebrated by the traveling nomad tribes in which men were not invited to watch.

THE DANCE IS VERY BENEFICIAL FOR THE GENERAL WELL BEING OF ALL AGES AND SHAPES OF WOMANHOOD FROM 7 TO 70. IN PARTICULAR BLOOD CIRCULATION, MUSCLES/ESPECIALLY THE ABDOMINAL AREA, HELPS RELIEVE PERIOD PAIN, BACK PROBLEMS AND GENERAL FITNESS. SOME OF THE TOP DANCERS IN CAIRO ARE IN THE 50'S AND 60'S , THE HEALTH BENEFITS ARE ENORMOUS, BOTH MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY.

HOPEFULLY THE IMAGE OF LITTLE EVA/SOHO DANCER WILL WITH A LITTLE HARD WORK, AND GOOD TASTE WILL IN TIME DISAPPEAR AND MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE WILL BE SEEN AS WHAT IT IS, A SPIRITUAL, UPLIFTING, EXCITING, HIGH ART FORM WHICH FOR TOO LONG HAS BEEN MIS-USED, BOTH BY HOW THE DANCING IS SOMETIMES PORTRAYED AND HOW THE PUBLIC HAVE BEEN CONDITIONED ON HOW THEY SEE IT.

If you are bored with Aerobics, do some exercise which you will love the thought of attending! For me it will be worth the effort of re-educating the public on what it's all about!!!

HAPPY DANCING!!!
