"I like pleasure Spiked with pain"
-Red Hot Chile Peppers

Rugby is a fast paced sport, combining elements of both football and soccer. It is a hard-hitting brutal sport where players attempt to score points by advancing the ball via kicking, running and passing laterally. If you are not familiar with rugby you will find both basic and advanced rules along with other rugby news here. The Chile Pepper quote above accurately describes the attitude of most ruggers. Pain and injuries are a mainstay in the game. You could play golf instead, but I guarantee you won t get quite the same adrenaline rush!

The Old Gaelic Rugby Club is a men s club team based in Carlisle, PA. The club has existed for over twenty years and shows no signs of fading. It has a membership of over 50, drawing from the entire south central Pennsylvania area.

The Gaelics have successfully completed their Spring season in glorious fashion. After a mid-season lull the Gaelics ended with two regular season wins and managed to carry that momentum into the Old Gaelic Classic Tournament. Despite playing some of the area s premier teams (Lancaster, Brandywine, Reading) Old Gaelic was able to make a clean sweep of our tournament and bring home the cup for the first time since 1987!! Congratulations on a great season goes out to all Gaelic ruggers. Check out some of the highlights of the season in "The Nose", an Old Gaelic newsletter compiled by Rick "Hacksaw" Wilson.

The Old Gaelic Rugby Club is looking for new members! If you want to have fun, meet interesting people, get in shape, take out all your frustrations, or just drink good beer with good friends: Give us a call! It doesn t matter what skills or knowledge of the game you have, we ll teach you (how to drink, if nothing else)
If interested contact club president Jay Abom at 730-2080 or contact the VP (and website maintainer) Jeremy Smith at 774-4568 or by email bampf@kns.net
