STEFANA RANIERI
At twenty one, Stefana lives life in the fast lane. Always something of a brat, she was spoiled rotten by her father Giani and then, on his death, largely neglected and chastised by her mother, Bianca. Stefana was kicked out of school aged fourteen for fighting, and her mother made her go back, joining a new school a grade behind where she first met Marissa. Even when in school, Stefana played truant a lot, and barely scraped through most classes. She began smoking at fifteen, and by eighteen was using both amphetamines and sleeping pills, dropping out of school before graduating. She was kicked out of home after a row with her mother aged nineteen, when she moved into a flat with Marissa. Though often promising her friend to give the drugs up, she never manages it. Stefana is loud mouthed, rude, obnoxious, tactless and only confesses any kind of deeper emotions when drunk (or on the odd occasion to Marissa, who is in many ways like a sister to her). She is very possessive of her brother Luca and dislikes any girl he dates, often resorting to spite to split up his relationships. However, deep down she is simply scared to lose him like she did her father. Stefana develops a crush she can't control on Aaron Pelligrini, though outwardly mocking his nice nature and friendly temperament. She is deeply jealous of Copper because of this and tries her best to split them up, especially when it turns out that Copper and Marissa are becoming friendly. Stefana plays guitar for Diablo, and is recognised as having real talent, when she bothers to use it.
 

Marissa Young
At twenty years old, Marissa is the youngest member of Diablo - she is also probably the most creative, and she and Clay co-write most of the band's music. Marissa has a crush on Clay, though noone knows it. Born diabetic, Marissa has always been determinedly independant where her health is concerned and crises are rare. Marissa is Stefana's best friend, and though the two are very different, Marissa often feels like it's her job to keep the wilder Ranieri in line. It is probably true to say, also, that Marissa's emotions are generally affected more by Stefana's scrapes than Stefana's herself, and she often finds musical inspiration in Stefana's devil-may-care lifestyle.
The daughter of Pizzazz's half-sister, Suzanne Mayor, and her first husband Martin, Marissa does not know about her family's connection with Misfit Music. Marissa's parents divorced when she was four and both parents remarried. Marissa has a good relationship, however, with both sides of the family. She has a twin sister (non-identical) called Farah who is based out in Japan with her mother's close friend Kaori and a half brother Patrick by her father's second marriage, who is seventeen and a budding baseball star. Marissa is the band's keyboardist, as well as their chief writer.
 

CLAYTON BLAKE
Clay is the dark horse of the group. Generally quiet, people tend to listen to what he has to say when he deigns to put an opinion forward. Dry-humoured and ironic, Clay is both intelligent and creative, and works with Marissa in composing Diablo's music, as well as playing drums for the group.
Clay was born in England, the illegitimate son of the Earl of Wissex, Mason Hawthorne, and for this reason his family's roots were hushed up. Clay only discoved his father's identity at the age of twelve, and has never met him. Clay's mother, Shona, was born in Scotland and because of this Clay speaks with a slight scottish accent, especially since from the age of eight he was raised in Edinburgh after Shona's marriage to his stepfather Gary McKenzie. At fifteen, his family moved to Connecticut due to Gary's job and Clay met Luca at high school. The two soon hit it off and roomed together at college. Clay never talks about his real father and considers Gary as his dad, even though he was not there during the early part of his childhood. He also bears his mother no ill will for her indiscretion with Mason and is the first to defend her honour whenever it is brought into question. Despite his blue blood, Clay has no airs and graces or aspirations to lay claim to the earldom, even though Mason and his wife have no children of their own.

LUCA RANIERI
Luca is Stefana's older brother. Like Stefana, he was close to his late father and promised to take care of his sister after Giani's death. Because of this promise, Luca has always stood up for Stefana, though he does not know that she is using drugs and often acts more like a father than a brother to her. Fairly easy-going and the PR man of the group, Luca, along with Clay, was the mastermind behind the setting up of the band back in Connecticut, where he grew up. Something of a ladies man, Luca met singer Madeleine Dacourt at college and dated her before she joined the band setup. No longer dating, Luca and Maddy are fast friends and often hold the group together. Luca also tends to see Marissa as being as much his kid sister as Stefana is. Not arrogant, Luca is confident and genial, winning him many fans and admirers, and he persists in his lovelife despite Stefana's best efforts to thwart him. Luca is loyal and does not long bear grudges. However, sometimes his concern and perceived responsibilities are a bit misplaced and inspire more resentment in his sister than gratitude.
Luca falls in love with Sirena as soon as he sees her, but she doesn't quite know how to take his attention, often resulting in frustration for them both. Luca plays guitar and sings for Diablo, as well as contributing the occasional lyric..

Madeleine Dacourt
Madeleine is the down to earth influence on the band. She dated Luca briefly in college, but they are now simply firm friends. Madeleine's family originate from Martinique, and, though she speaks with no accent she is fluent in French. She is also the neice of designer Regine Cesare, being the daughter of her older sister Chantal. Because of this relationship she easily gets Regine and Shana to design for her group.
Madeleine does not get on well with Stefana, finding her tiresome, though she puts up with her for Luca's sake. She is rarely ruffled and eager to learn in the music profession. Though Stefana believes Madeleine has a crush on Riot, the truth is that the singer only wants to learn the quickest and best ways to success in the music industry, and believes in their management's advice. Though she dabbles in a few other instruments, Madeleine's gift is singing.
