Through the Internet:
Contact Video Placement Worldwide for free educational videos and print materials that are provided on a "permanent loan" basis. Offer available to teachers, librarians, and group leaders. (requires registration, but registration is free)Another site that offers free videos is Modern Video Catalog. Some videos are offered on loan (must be returned) and others are offered to keep. Either way, all videos are free. Most videos target junior high and high school grades.
Educast.com is a free screensaver that you can download to your computer. It is unlike other screensavers in that it draws updates from the internet to provide you with up-to-date education information and resources.
The U.S. Geological Survey offers many great posters, teaching packs, and other materials to classroom teachers.
The Environmental Defense Fund is offering free newsletters on environmental issues.Storyhouse offers monthly promotions which usually include a free book with teacher's guide.
The Film and Bag Corporation offers free lesson plans/activities on recycling. Lesson plans are available both for elementary teachers and middle school teachers.
Tomorrow's Morning offers a free issue of their newspaper, which contains news for kids. This is a great way to incorporate current events into your classroom!
