Welcome to the GEHENNA Page

Is your soul stained by the poison of unrepented mortal sin?
Have you rejected the love of God and of neighbor?
Do you manipulate and use others without concern for their dignity?
Are you regularly absent from Sunday Worship and from giving God his due?
Have you jettisoned prayer and blasphemed against the Holy Spirit?
As far as you are concerned, are the commandments now only the ten suggestions?
Has Jesus become an empty caricature for you, altered so as not to challenge?
Do you seek vengeance and curse those different than you?

If the answers are YES, this page is only a taste of what awaits you in the life to come.

The word Gehenna is a Greek word used in the New Testament and often rendered as Hell. It signifies an abode of punishment beyond the grave. It is the place of CHOICE for those who fail to love God and neighbor. The greatest tragedy of Hell is the deprivation of seeing God for whom we were created. Like puzzles incomplete, the lost souls have opted to reject the one who could make them whole and fulfilled. Perhaps as a distraction against their serious loss of God, they also suffer a pain of the senses-- the agony of hell-fire. The depths to which each soul is afflicted is determined by the degree of one's depravity. Who has been lost? We do not know. We can but pray that the devil is lonely. When the trumpet of the Last Judgment sounds, the bodies of the damned will be restored to their souls and they will endure eternal punishment. There is still time to repent and to change your lives!

The Heck You Say?

Matthew 25:41-46
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

2 Peter 2:4-10
For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but condemned them to the chains of Tartarus and handed them over to be kept for judgment; and if he did not spare the ancient world, even though he preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, together with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the godless world; and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gommorah [to destruction], reducing them to ashes, making them an example for the godless [people] of what is coming; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man oppressed by the licentious conduct of unprincipled people (for day after day that righteous man living among them was tormented in his righteous soul at the lawless deeds that he saw and heard), then the Lord knows how to rescue the devout from trial and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who follow the flesh with its depraved desire and show contempt for lordship.

Matthew 5:29-30
"If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into Gehenna."

Matthew 10:28,32-33
"And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. . . . Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father."

Proverbs 15:24
The path of life leads the prudent man upward, that he may avoid the nether world below.

Isaiah 5:14-16
Therefore the netherworld world enlarges its throat and opens its maw without limit; Down go their nobility and their masses, their throngs and their revelry. Men shall be abased, each one brought low, and the eyes of the haughty lowered, But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted by his judgment, and God the Holy shall be shown holy by his justice.

Isaiah 28:15,17-18
Because you say, "We have made a covenant with death, and with the nether world we have made a pact; When the overwhelming scourge passes, it will not reach us; For we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have found a hiding place,"-- . . . I will make of right a measuring line, of justice a level.-- Hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters shall flood the hiding place. Your covenant with death shall be canceled and your pact with the nether world shall not stand. When the overwhelming scourge passes, you shall be trampled down by it.

Luke 12:45-48
"But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk, then that servant's master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful. That servant who knew his master's will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.

Luke 16:19-26
"There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day. And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man's table. Dogs even used to come and lick his sores. When the poor man died, he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, and from the netherworld, where he was in torment, he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.' Abraham replied, 'My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our side to yours or from your side to ours.'"

2 Thessalonians 1:6-9
For it is surely just on God's part to repay with afflictions those who are afflicting you, and to grant rest along with us to you who are undergoing afflictions, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels, in blazing fire, afflicting punishment on those who do not acknowledge God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.

Matthew 13:41-42,49-50
"The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. . . . Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth."

Revelation 20:10, 12-15
The Devil who had led them astray was thrown into the pool of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. . . . Then another scroll was opened, the book of life. The dead were judged according to their deeds, by what was written in the scrolls. The sea gave up its dead; then Death and Hades gave up their dead. All the dead were judged according to their deeds. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the pool of fire. (This pool of fire is the second death.) Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the pool of fire.

Revelation 14:9-11
A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice, "Anyone who worships the beast or its image, or accepts its mark on forehead or hand, will also drink the wine of God's fury, poured full strength into the cup of his wrath, and will be tormented in burning sulfur before the holy angels and before the Lamb. The smoke of the fire that torments them will rise forever and ever, and there will be no relief day or night for those who worship the beast or its image or accept the mark of its name."

Note: The apologetic style used here is in response to clearly anti-Catholic attacks. Not everyone who disagrees with Catholic teaching is a "bigot". Indeed, the dialogue between many Christian bodies and their membership is quite respectful and congenial. We do not seek to prosletyze each other, but rather to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to one another and to allow the grace of God to handle the rest. Having said this, we pray for unity; but it will never come at the cost of truth.

You can CLICK these sites all you want, nothing will happen. They are DEAD LINKS. Oh, the places exist, and their internet addresses are spelled out, but I do not recommend you visit them. They are listed as a WARNING! These sites are a danger to true faith. They are ANTI-CATHOLIC and teach FALSE DOCTRINE. They are LIBERAL and seek to establish a NEW COUNTERFEIT CHURCH. Like the empty promises of Hell, they are lies and distortions. The worse deceits are those rendered under the guise of Christianity. Let us pray for an end to such bigotry and ignorance.

A Purgatory Listing, Maybe?

BREAKAWAY CATHOLICS?:
Actually, these fellas have a lot of good material, but real problems remain.

Old Catholics http://www.en.com/camillus/ocintro.html
They deny papal jurisdiction and infallibility. Consequently, they have also renounced Western discipline, including obligatory priestly celibacy. Their liturgies allow for a mixing of the old Roman Canon with revised elements.
In Hoc Signo Vinces http://www.bardstown.com/~ihsv
They emphasize the doctrine of "no salvation outside the Church" to the extent of utterly repudiating ecumenism and the teachings regarding baptism by desire. They acknowledge the current Pope, but seriously question some of his pronouncements and overtures toward Protestants and non-Christians. The authority of Vatican II is largely rejected, as is the revised liturgy.
St. Benedict Page http://www.catholicism.org/homepage.htm
With the addition of pot shots against Karl Keating and Father Most, see previous comments.
Society of St. Pius X (UK) http://www.sspx.org.uk
They emphasize the older forms while largely repudiating and condemning the new ones, particularly regarding the Mass. Despite their arguments from canonical necessity, the Holy See warned that the unlawful ordination of bishops would constitute a formal schism and excommunication. Predominately doctrinally orthodox, they are in the precarious position of honoring the present Pope while ignoring his immediate authority over them.
Society of St. Pius X (USA) http://www.sspx.org
See previous comments.
True Catholic http://www.truecatholic.org
While espousing the older liturgical forms, this group rejects Vatican II as utterly heretical and declares all the popes going back to John XXIII to be bogus.
Fortes in Fide http://www.fred.net/jmcnally
Ridiculing Pope Paul VI and John Paul II, they are similar to the previous site.
The Remnant http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/remnant
The Remnant site is actually little more than an advertisement for its publication. I suspect that it is quite orthodox and the concerns addressed, legitimate. However, it admits to "public" disagreement with the Holy Father over issues such as ecumenism, interacting with the United Nations, and his generous support of the Second Vatican Council.
Mount Saint Michael http://www.stmichaels.org/
At least from the time of Pope Paul VI, this group also argues that the See of Peter is vacant, that Vatican II was heretical, and that the validity of the sacraments as celebrated today are seriously in doubt, including the Mass and ordination.
Society of St. Pius V http://www.sspv.org/sspv.htm
In competition with the aforementioned group, they are in essential agreement and consider Vatican II the work of "the enemy".

I have added a few notations to this final sampling of sites for purposes of clarification. A number of Traditionalists, completely loyal to the Church, thought that I was castigating the entire movement. This is not the case. My concern is that there should be no endorsement of groups which have no official standing with the Holy See. I am a supporter of the Society of St. Peter and the indult that allows the beautiful and rich liturgy of our inheritance to be celebrated. What I oppose are those organizations which make public their dissent with the Holy Father, either by disavowing him altogether or by disregarding his full authority over them as the "Rock" established by Christ. As a priest in good standing in my archdiocese, I could hardly support those who deny this jurisdiction and that of the teaching role of the Magisterium-- past and present. As for those Traditionalists working toward their goals within the Church, there can be NO HERESY in simply retaining the classical and tried-and-true formulations of Church doctrine and the older forms of divine worship. Having said this, the mere fact that these organizations mentioned here largely follow the ancient truths of faith implies that they are very close to the heart of Catholicism. Let us all pray for a full reintergration of all such sad divisions into the unity of a Catholic faith which speaks to the times and yet also brings to us the voice of eternity.

  Our Abortion President
The very day that he took office, President Clinton, kept his promise to remove federal bans against fetal research. Dedicated to their cause, he has filled many posts in his administration with Planned Parenthood personnel. Indeed, the pro-abortion industry considers him, his wife Hillary, and the Gores as the best friends they have ever had. Research grants were offered to the NIH for experimentation on human embryos; he encouraged the World Health Organization in its American testing of the French abortion drug RU-486; he removed Reagan's long-standing federal restrictions on taxpayer-funded abortions; the White House sought to suppress legitimate protest in front of abortion clinics; he sent an official United States delegation, largely made up of NARAL and Planned Parenthood members, to the Cairo International Conference on Population and Development; he has made access to America's foreign aid programs dependent upon the implementaion of widespread usage of artificial contraception, sterilization, and abortion; he has praised China's initiatives at population control even though they include forced sterilizations and abortions; he has urged the United Nations to make abortion an integral component of their population control agenda in developing countries; and the list goes on and on.

At least the President's public and private life on this matter is consistent. The woman with whom he purportedly had an intimate relationship back in Arkansas, made no secret of the fact that he paid for the abortion of their unborn child. Does he ever remember his lost son or daughter in prayer? Is there no sorrow or regret?

Despite all this, the President has told us that he HATES abortion. If this is the case, given the harvest of death under his leadership, then may heaven spare us from what his LOVE might bring. What is the old saying? Oh yes, "Actions speak louder than words."

Let us PRAY for our President and for all government leaders. May they know a true conversion in Christ and renounce the message of death for the Gospel of Life. Let us pray for all mothers and fathers, that they will protect the child in the womb as a priceless treasure and a reflection of the Christchild. Let us pray for the child, that God will shower his care and love upon those rejected by their parents and our society. Let us pray for ourselves, that our response to abortion will be one of love, prayer, and peaceful protest. God bless America! Amen.
