Gouverneur is located in the Saint Lawrence River Valley in northern New York State. The Gouverneur Museum is rich in local history. Thanks
to the generosity of many area residents, the Museum houses thousands of items,
many of which are quite unique.

Click on Gouvernuer Morris to learn about some of the contents of the museum. Morris, founder of Gouverneur, was an American statesman and diplomat. He headed the committee that wrote the final draft of the Constitution of the United States. Much of the credit for the wording of the Constitution belongs to him.
