Lily had a ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of willow wand. James had a mahogany, eleven inches, pliable wand. Harry had a holly and phoenix feather, eleven inches, nice and supple wand. Voldemort a thirteen and a half inches, and yew wand. Strangely enough, the phoenix tail feather which is in Harry's wand gave another feather. The other tail feather wand belongs to Voldemort. Ron has a new fourteen inches, willow, containing one unicorn tail-hair wand. The wand chooses the wizard or witch. One you have the right wand, sparks shoot out of it like fireworks. :)
An interesting thought.... Voldemort's wand was made out of Yew wood right? Since wands were usually made out of wood, it's often that it's from a Yew Tree. In the Eihwaz rune, it means defence also known as the Death Tree or Tree of Death. It was also the tree that Odin hung himself on to discover the Runes. In divination it means transformation, confrontion of a fear and/or the ability to achieve desire. Hmmm... an interesting thought!
