Jerry Dean and Patty Ann Wilbanks

Step Right Up....Come On In.... and "Feel The Spirit Of Music" with Jerry Dean & Patty Ann Wilbanks, from the Heart of Texas Honky Tonk Music.

You have landed in Houston, Texas...just on the outskirts of the famous "Gilley's Club"... the home of "The Urban Cowboy" movie, at the website of Jerry Dean and Patty Ann Wilbanks ... We refer to our website as "The Guitar Man and The Poetess".

Welcome to our Channelview Family, Friends and Classmates From The "MyFamily.Com" Website !!

The Guitar Man and The Poetess website is being created and configured in a way to try and reveal The Spirit Of Music that lives within our very own soul, and link this musical spirit with the beauty and fun of poetry, in an attempt to show that together, music and poetry go hand in hand with each other to create "The International Language".

I truly believe that "The International Language" is that of music which has been created into a song, and the lyrics of a song is said to be derived from poetry. And poetry is defined as the Beauty of Expressions, so don't you agree, that Music and Poetry do go hand in hand to create the "International Language"? ... Could You Imagine A World Without Music?

"Musical Spirits That Live Within Our Soul"

Don't miss the link to the unforgettable true life story about the remarkable Hank Williams, Sr., The Father and Legend of Country Music.

His music will send chills up and down your spine and goosebumps over your body, and when you do experience these uncontrollable chills and goosebumps as you listen to one of his songs, then it is said that you are at the same "mood-level" that Hank was at during the time that he was writing his songs...or like one of our visitors to our site has recently attested to... that it could be those special songs, that we shared with our loved ones, that's embeded in our soul... and that could certainly bring on the goosebumps too!

So... that musical spirit does live within our very own soul! And yes, I have been there at that same "mood-level" with Hank's spirit many times... along with millions of others.

"Feel The Spirit"

Fats Domino...the fabulous Rhythm & Blues singer, from down, around New Orleans,

the legendary Elvis Presley... the King of Rock & Roll music,

and James Dean... the teen-age idol actor from the big silver screen at the movies, are a few legends that were very instrumental in my survival in a very dysfunctional family.

As a young teen-age boy I felt "The Spirit" and to this very day, I still feel "The Spirit" of their music deep within my soul. Elvis & Fats music, along with the movies of James Dean on the silver screen, allowed me to push my worries aside, forget about my sorrow in life and made me feel happy and alive.

I do believe that music is "The International Language", understood by all, in all areas of the world. And I also believe that music alone provides more happiness, joy, uplifting spirit and fun to our culture than anything else on God's green earth. So I say to you... have fun with music, don't take it too serious, but definitely feel "The Spirit".

The beauty of expression in the poetry written by my wonderful wife Patty and her love and understanding also feeds my spirit, for she is my pretty lady. aka "The Poetess". ~ jerry wilbanks, aka "The Guitar Man"...Houston, Texas - 1997

The following poem was written by my wife aka "The Poetess" and was dedicated to me, aka "Hank" and my life long friend Joey Listi, aka "Elvis", of Highlands, Texas...and in her very own words..."For they are my own Hank and Elvis"!!

"Hank And Elvis"

Hank on the guitar, Elvis on the mic, singing and laughing well into the night.

Food in the ice chest, tackle in the trunk, here come Hank and Elvis- two fishing hunks.

Messages on the answering machine are something else to hear, for Elvis is alive and well each and every year.

Chinese is spoken too in some unknown dialect, so any interpretation is positively correct.

Teasing is the home remedy they would surely choose to chase away that old time feeling known as the low down blues.

Nonsense is their calling card, Po-Ke-No is their game, fishing is their only sport and singing is their fame.

So gather round, guys and gals, and listen to them croon, "Your Cheating Heart", without a doubt, is their very favorite tune.
