Memorium & Request For Information

SSG Sanford Burnett "Duck" Gill Possibly a "Jr", ssan 570-44-8716, from Virginia and then Southern California, who was at the 93rd Evac in 1971. I believe, part of a unit called "BDART." I know he was an X-Ray technician (not in the photo on the website, though), but wasn't sure if that's what he was doing there. He passed away about 10 years ago, and I'm trying to piece some of his history together. I just know that a number of letters I have from him, from early 1971, originated from the 95rd Evacuation Hospital (some also say 93rd Evac as well). He didn't correspond much with family or even have much of a relationship with the family, and he has no children. I am fascinated by him however - he also served in Korea and work for the feds via McDonnel Douglass between wars - and am in the process of obtaining his military records. I thought at least a short story about him could provide some sort of memorium for him. Jenee Gill

Note: We believe "BDART" is an acronym for "Battle Damage Assessment Review Team". The above SSAN checks out as a "still valid" number, with no death being reported! With so little to go on, we have narrowed the death of this man down to S GILL, born 4 Feb 1937, died in March 1992. Last known residence: 91324 (Chats Worth, Los Angeles, CA), SSAN: 616-09-4597, being issued in California (1988). If you have any knowledge of this man, please email his niece, Jenee Gill with your information. Even the smallest details will be of help to her!
