Philip Schuyler, and sister of Mrs. Alexander Hamilton. The mother of Benjamin Silliman Church was the daughter of Prof. Benjamin Silliman of Yale (the father of geology), and granddaughter of Jonathan Trumbull ("Brother Jonathan"), governor of Connecticut during the Revolution and confidant of George Washington. Whew!

His efforts contributed to France's entry into the Revolution. But, he was maligned at home about his financial dealings and expenses and got embroiled in a bitter fight with Congress after the Revolution. He died in England in poverty. He was completely vindicated in 1843 by Congress and his family was furnished financial remuneration for the injustice done to this worthy patriot, our cousin! (Close cousin to Oxenbridge Thacher)

Edwards, Jonathan (Not a cousin to me, in-law connections to several lines) Noted religious leader, leading force in the "Great Awakening". In spite of what he started, it backfired on him. He was for returning to the more strict teachings of Puritanism. The Great Awakening provided the forum for New Englanders to break away, and the establishment of other protestant churches took place. He ended up being fired and a missionary to Indians. But, still one of the most respected names in theological thought, even until today.
