Presentation Notes:

Reintegrating an AD child into a loving family environment is no easy task, because the child will have to release control and depend upon its parents. But the benefits to the child, family and society far outweigh the difficulties.

I opened up this presentation with a challenge to you. And I hope that I have been successful in opening your understanding to, and awareness of, Attachment Disorder. Most people I talk to on this topic admit that this explains better than anything else they'd ever heard, why a relative, or acqaintance acts the way they do. But understanding is only a part of the solution. To adequately resolve some of the challenges presented by AD, a local networking resource has to be developed, trained respite care and financial resources have to be established and acceptance of the treatments necessary to combat AD have to be recognized.

In regards to those you suspect may have AD, continue to ask yourself, "What could I have done differently to alter events of today? What can I do to help change things?"
