Joining The Regiment

So, do you want to join the 73rd? Our group is open to just about anyone, we have a number of families who are all members.  If you would like to join there are a number of options

Soldier -  with the rank  of Private. You must be 18 years or older and be eligible to obtain a Firearms License in your home State.  You have to purchase your uniform, which we have in stock.  We  allow you to pay off  your uniform if you cannot afford to purchase it out right.
The basic uniform consists of:-

Red Tunic,  Greatcoat, Gaiters, White  Trousers, Shako, Universal Shako plate, Cross Belts, Ammunition Pouch and Crossbelt Plate.

You don't have to purchase your own musket as the club has several you can use once you, a: have a shooters license  b: your name has been placed on our reenactors permit

Musician -  if you can play the Drum, Fife or Pipes we want  you. This is the only position as a Soldier that doesn't require a Shooters License.

Civilian- This is open to all age groups. You must have the correct period clothing, with no ring ins from the 20/21 century. Our club has a number of period patterns which can be borrowed or we can point you to the various suppliers who can provide everything you need.

Our club participates in many period demonstrations, we have regular weekends away at Old Sydney Town, The Winter Muster at Hill End on the Queens Birthday long weekend, The Annual  Military Encampment over Easter at Old Sydney Town and the Tamanick  Camp  on the Oct long weekend in Victoria. At the Easter Encampment we hold a regimental Dinner with period entertainment. At all of these events there is nothing from the 20/21 Century allowed to be visible everything must be in period.
