When Jesus comes back, he will no longer be beaten and crucified and be wearing a crown of thorns upon his head. No longer will he be standing before Pilate. Now Pilate will be standing before him. No longer will his enemies be cursing and screaming at him, but instead they too will stand before him, absolutely speechless.

JESUS CHRIST

Who is this man called Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is God. He along with the Father and the Holy Spirit make up the Trinity. Jesus is also called the Word. The real true meaning of the birth of Christ represents that historic moment in time when almighty God stepped out of heaven and came down to earth. John 6:38 says it so beautifully. "Because I have come down from heaven to do, not my will, but the will of him who sent me". Just think of it. Even though Christ had shared incredible power and glory with God the Father through out all of eternity, he voluntarily emptied himself of that power and glory to become our Savior in the earthly form of a human being. It's incredible, but God is telling us that he loved us so much that he became one of us.

So on earth, the Son of God took the human form of Jesus Christ. Jesus was God actually dwelling among men. Philippians 2:7, "Of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a slave. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness".

There is no question but that the virgin birth required God's intervention. The name "Immanuel," given by Isaiah, shows that the child would be God, robed in flesh. Immanuel means "God with us."
Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."

Matthew 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

In fact, when Mary was told that she was gong to be bringing the long awaited Messiah into the world, she asked in Luke 1:34, "How shall I have a child when I have never known a man intimately?" The angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore that blessed thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

This wonder-working, omnipotent Holy Spirit, took the body and blood prepared by the Father, and placed the Christ - the sent One - into the womb of the pure virgin. Therefore, the person who places his faith in Jesus Christ as savior, enters into a divine intimacy with the Son of God. Holy God and sinful man can now live in harmony and fellowship through the death, burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
John 16:27 "The Father himself loves you. He loves you because you loved me and you believe that I came from God".

In Jesus we have a very strong and powerful advocate who comes to our aid and stands ready to protect and defend us. Jesus has promised never to leave or abandon us.(Hebrews 13:5) Jesus is the believers light and the strength of his life. Jesus gives us his power, his promise, his strength, his presence, his readiness to hear our prayers and he is our source of hope, security and peace of mind.

Even before Jesus was born, God the Father had predestined him to become the atonement for our sins. Because sin demands a sacrifice, Jesus was born with the purpose of becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God. If Jesus had not assumed the responsibility for our sins, we would have to accept the consequences of our own sins which would mean eternal death for us. He however willingly took all your guilt, shame, and condemnation with him to the cross.

It was his death that shook the gates of hell, forever destroying the false and misleading facade satan had erected in hopes of leading God's beloved astray. When Christ came to the end of his earthly life, he lifted up a cup and instructed the disciples to drink. This was a symbol of his blood being poured out for each and every one of us. He willingly allowed his blood to be shed and his life to be sacrificed for you. Just think of it. The Son of God, in the form of Jesus Christ, hung on that cross at calvary in all that shame and agony just for the joy of greeting you in heaven.

We deserve to die spiritually for our sins but the perfect spotless Son of God dies in our place. By our faith in him we accept his death in place of our own death. Nothing we can do on our own is adequate to earn our salvation. We are saved solely by his grace, and the only way that we can obtain that grace is by having faith in Jesus Christ. As we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Jesus himself tells us that the only way into the presence of almighty God occurs only when we receive him. Matthew 10:40 tells us, "He who receives Me, receives Him who sent Me." We then appear before God as if we had never sinned. We stand perfect before God because of the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.

Anyone who truly believes in Jesus has everlasting life. Jesus came into this world as a light, so that anyone putting faith in him would no longer remain in darkness. He constantly told us how we could be saved and how to we could achieve everlasting life. In Romans 10:9, the Bible says, for if you declare that Jesus is Lord and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, then you will be saved.

The apostle Luke puts the purpose and reason why Jesus came to earth so simply and yet so elegantly when he says in Luke 19:10,
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those that are lost".

Your salvation is based upon Jesus Christ. He is the linchpin for your salvation. For in order to acquire salvation you must in your own heart truly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he came to earth to die on the cross at calvary, that the blood that he shed on the cross allowed you to have your sins forgiven, and through his glorious Resurrection he made it possible for you to overcome death and obtain eternal life. You must confess your sins, ask for forgiveness, and you must try and honestly repent of those sins in an effort not to commit them again..

The definition of righteousness is becoming acceptable, honorable, and pleasing in the eyes of God. A great many verses in the Bible tell us exactly how to attain this righteousness.
Romans 3:22 "The righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe."
Each of us is born into the righteousness of God, but in order to claim this righteousness, we have to have faith and believe in Jesus Christ.

These are the things that you must do in order to obtain eternal salvation and they all happen to center around the Son of God. If you don't accept Jesus Christ as the one true path to salvation, then eternal life will never be yours.

The apostle John wrote two very interesting and inspiring verses concerning the importance between salvation and Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:5 Who can defeat this world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1 John 5:13 I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life—you that believe in the Son of God.

Many people think that if they simply keep all 10 commandments then they will make it into heaven. Keeping the law of God or the 10 commandments does not determine a persons salvation. Paul tells us this in Galatians 2:16 "Yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law".

The most precious truth in all the Bible is that the Son of God loved us so much that he left heaven and became man so that he could die for our sins and thereby give us life. Now, because the Lord Jesus has died on the cross, God forgives the sins of all those who take Christ as their Savior. He does this because he sees the shed blood of his Son canceling out completely all your sins.

Read the following few verses and think about the extraordinary importance that Jesus Christ has with God the Father.

Matthew 17:5----This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John 10:30----I and the Father are one.

Mark 14:62----I am, said Jesus. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.

John 1:1----In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 17:5----So now you Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.

1 John 5:11-12----And this is the record given. That God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life. He that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

John 14:7-9----If you really know me, you would know my Father as well. You do know him and have seen him since anyone who has seen me and knows me, has seen the Father and knows the Father.

John 6:38----Because I have come down from heaven to do, not my will, but the will of him who sent me.

There is but one door into heaven and Jesus Christ is that door, "I am the door and if any man enters through it and believes, he shall be saved."(John 10:9)
Jesus Christ is that door and he is the only way into heaven and the only way to obtain eternal life.

Jesus Christ will also be the very first thing that your spirit will see, as your human body takes its last breath. We can believe this because the very first martyr of the Christian Church called upon Jesus Christ to receive his spirit as he was being murdered.
Acts 7:59 "They went on stoning Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

The apostle John told us that his purpose in writing his epistles was to show us how to achieve eternal life. 1 John 5:13, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life".

Jesus lived a God planned life, one that was outlined long before his birth. Always conscious of this fact, he remained sensitive to God's leading. Christ said, "I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me, for I always do what pleases the Father." In fact the Son in obedience to the Father, came to this earth to save man. "For God sent forth his Son into the world not for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him." (John 3:17). However, one day soon Jesus will come to judge you. On judgment day the one judging mankind will be Jesus Christ. He is the one who has been given complete and total control over the judging of every human being who has ever lived on earth. For the Father judges no one at all but he has committed all the judging to the Son." John 5:22
Think for a second on what that means. What it means is that Jesus Christ holds your entire eternal future in his very own hands. It is he that is going to determine your eternal future.

When Jesus comes back, he will no longer be beaten and crucified and be wearing a crown of thorns upon his head. No longer will he be standing before Pilate. Now Pilate will be standing before him. No longer will his enemies be cursing him but instead they too will stand before him speechless. For he will come back as King Of Kings, and he will be reigning in all his glory. He will look for you. And if you are not there waiting for him, he will be greatly disappointed.

Millions of others will be waiting for him and he will be very glad, but his joy will be incomplete if you are missing. It was you he had in mind when he first thought of calvary and it was you he had in mind when he carried that plan through, and when he suffered and was crucified. It was you that he was thinking about as he took his final breath as he hung in excruciating pain on that cross. And it was you that he was thinking about three days later when he walked out of his tomb. He tells us this many, many times but it really strikes home at John 14:2-3. There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for YOU. If this were not so, I would tell YOU. When everything is ready, I will come and get YOU, so that YOU will always be with me where I am.

No one else can take your place and no other will be able to heal the disappointment he will feel if you don't care enough to be there waiting for him; considering he planned all this for you.

Further importance of Jesus Christ
If God the Father accepted you apart from his Son Jesus Christ, it would be a horrible and blasphemous act on the part of Almighty God. To ignore his own Son after he sent him to earth as a sacrifice to suffer and to die for man would be grounds for the entire Bible to be questioned. Without belief in Jesus Christ being the Son of God there can be no salvation. Your entire eternal life centers on this fact: Read carefully the following verses to see just how important Jesus Christ is to your eternal life.

John 14:6--- "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Romans 10:13--- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

John 3:16--- "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life."

John 5:24--- "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Romans 6:23--- "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord".

John 6:40--- "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

Acts 16:31--- "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved".

John 10:27-28--- My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

John 10:9--- "I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture".

John 11:25--- "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live".

John 6:47--- "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life".

Acts 10:43--- "To Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name, everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sins."
