Who We Are: The Scottish Gaelic Learners Association
of the Bay Area
|
The Scottish Gaelic Learners Association of the Bay Area is a group
of enthusiasts for the Scottish Gaelic language, dedicated to
promoting its learning and use. We are located in Lafayette,
California, about 30 miles east of San Francisco. Our services
include this informational web site, geared to learners of Scottish Gaelic who have little or no access to a teacher; ongoing weekly classes for the beginner to Scottish Gaelic;
an in-house, internet mailing list serving the participants in our Gaelic classes; informational tables
on Scottish Gaelic staged at the major Northern California Scottish
Games in Oakland and Pleasanton; and hosting The Scottish Gaelic Web Ring, a confederation of web sites whose subject matter and content is geared to the learner of Scottish Gaelic. We invite anyone
with questions or an interest in Scottish Gaelic to contact the
director, Tris King (Toirstean MacRobainn), at:
