Answers

01) dancing on the first beat of the bar. Some styles ,such as New York, dance on the 2nd beat and are called "dancing on 2".
02) It can be found on Temple St. which is an unadopted road and so is not found on any map of the town. It  can take a bit of finding so if you want to go there just ask for the main mosque, and it's just behind it.
03) It is the pause on the 4th and 8th beat (assuming you are "dancing on 1") which is not usually danced and often marked with a flexing of the left (or right as appropriate) lkneww and a quick tap of the foot.
04) Timba. Perhaps we should do it at the club?
05) Curiously Strong Art Club. Not strictly Salsa, but many of you know Jayne who runs the club anyway.

08) I've no idea but he has a lovely dance hall named after him in Tadcaster. It is in a beautiful old building and has a polished fully sprung dance floor. One of the best around here. You can dance there too by looking up the next dance on our events page.
09) Mambo, Basic, Opening Out, Side to Side, Cucaracha and Turn. I do hope you knew that one!
10) Salsa means "spicy mix" and applies equally to a mexican dip, Salsa music or Salsa dance.
11) mostly Mambo, though many others have contributed different styles and moves.
12) Cuba mainly, but also Colombia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Haiti. Will not accept Doncaster.

15) I suppose Croatia is the correct answer. But the hotel in Bradford with a lovely circular dance floor, chandeliers and  moulded ceiling is possibly more interesting to us. The owners actually do come from Croatia, hence the name.

17) It's only Day of Dance, the biggest one day dance event in the Nroth of England! More details on our events pages.
18) It means literally to wheel and is dancing in formation where couples dance in a circle and exchange partners. A great deal of fun to do, even when sober.
