This is not about the world we
inherited from our forefathers.
It is about the world we have
borrowed from our children.

The greatness of a nation and its
moral progress can be judged by
the way its animals are treated.

Whatever befalls the earth
befalls the son of the earth.
Man did not weave the web of life;
he is merely a strand of it.
Whatever he does to the web,
he does to himself.

Crazy Horse

___________________________________________________________

This is from an A&E Biography of Crazy Horse, spoken by Charles Chipps

-- Oglala Lakota, Spiritual Advisor, July 1995:

It was only his body that was killed, not his spirit.

For everything that dies today,

Die in physical, but not in spirit.

Somebody says that Crazy Horse doesn't need a tombstone,

Because the earth was his marker.

Because he believed that this land belongs to God,

The Great Spirit, the Almighty,

As we the indigenous people

Believe that we belong to the earth,

And not the earth belong to us.
