Thanks to LPage, we have a brand new instantly updated guestbook, though the old one is still knocking about somewhere if you want to read the entries. We're scanning all our mailing files to see if we discover any more messages to us that went missing. When we find them, they'll be attached to the guestbook file and we'll let you know all about it.
You may have also noticed that Blues Net has joined the Ring of Soccer, a rapidly-expanding network of soccer sites, linked to clubs all around the world, including Everton, Galatasaray, AS Roma, Mechelen and many more...
If you've any suggestions, give us a bell at wdowning@usa.net.
Thanks again for all your support during the last few months, the result of which is that the Bluesnet site is knocking on the door of 3,400 hits, with almost 2,700 of those arriving during 1997.
When site providers Tripod launched advertising campaigns on their web sites (including this one) nobody complained, with the conscensus being that it wouldn't interfere with the site. Well, it's over to you again.
Because the site keeps on growing - as it has done since I set it up in March of last year - with two people now providing the input, we may need to find a sponsor for the site. Is this a good idea? Would a sponsors' logo somewhere on the page be another sign of the stragulating grip commerce is having on football... or would it be perfectly acceptable?
Would you support The Super Valu BluesNet or Hoffman's BluesNet if the sponsors wanted their name in the title? Again, let me know...
By the way, if you're reading this and do want to sponsor it, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!!
As for the name change from Bluenet to BluesNet, it goes like this. somebody thought that Bluenet was a collection of porno sites. So to avoid any confusion (what do you mean that's what you thought as well??) the site supporting the "Blues" is now the Blues-Net. Simple, eh? Why didn't I think of it sooner...
Thanks for all your kind comments and suggestions so far on this web site. Keep the ideas rolling in. And if you sent a message via the guestbook, thanks a million. The readable book is going up very soon, and then finally I should be able to thank all the people who took the time out to send a message.
I got a number of e-mails asking about replica kits. The club have strucka new deal with Umbro, which means that replica kits are now available. Drop us a line for more info...
I've added a second "front page" to BluesNet, which is a lot less cluttered than the main front page. If you prefer this one, you can set your bookmarks to: http://members.tripod.com/~Akilduff/frontpage.html.
