1-nine-9-nine Camp Mar-Lin : 50th Annniversary Reunion

The time has come to make your final decision! Will you be coming back to Camp Mar-Lin for the 1999 season?

Rooms have been blocked at the Double Tree Hotel, at Bradley International. Camp Mar-Lin (now called Camp Shalom) is reserved and ready for us. We have ordered 50th Anniversary T-shirts, and are finalizing menu choices for Lunch on Saturday, June 4 (peanut butter and jelly substitutes will be available), Chuck Wagon Dinner on Saturday evening ( what did you expect, Schaefer on a hot dog???), a magician for the kids, all day activities for the adults (former campers and staff), Saturday night Broadway Review, followed by a social, with music from the 60's and 70's (we're trying to book Janis Joplin), and finally, candle floating and milk and cookies.

On Sunday we'll have a festive brunch before we say our good-byes, until the next reunion (two oh oh nine).

We have tried to keep the costs to an absolute minimum, so that all of you will be able to attend. The initial response has been fantastic. There will be attendees from the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. Guaranteed, you will find people you remember. Yes, Camp Mar-Lin, you can go back!

If you haven't received a copy of this letter, along with a reservation form, in the mail, then please e-mail your mailing address to: reunion@campmar-lin.org and we'll send you the reservation form in the mail. Please fill in the reservation form and return it to Jeff, no later than April 15th, 1999.

12/12/98 Update: Remember to keep the dates open...Camp Mar-Lin's 50th Reunion will begin on Saturday morning, June 5, 1999...at Camp Mar-Lin. Many of us will be arriving at the hotel on Friday, to begin renewing old friendships. In March of 1999 you will receive your application form. Until then, we would like to wish you all a Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year filled with Fun, Friends and Healthy Living.

It's been almost four years since our last reunion at Camp Mar-Lin. We had a tremendous turn-out, and all agreed that "You can go back".

Now, it is time to plan for the REUNION of the CENTURY...the 50 year Anniversary of CAMP MAR-LIN.

The dates, June 4,5,6, 1999 are already reserved with the camp. They are expecting hundreds of us to be there at Flag Raising, Saturday Morning, June 5, 1999. It's a late sleep-in that morning, so be there at 10:00 A.M. sharp!

In the months ahead, there will be lots of planning going on. Suggestions from you, are more than welcome.

Please fill out the accompanying sheet, and return to me as soon as possible. Most important is the part where you send me names and addresses of Camp Mar-Lin Alumni who would be interested in a reunion.
