Moist is a Canadian band, originally based in Vancouver, now out of Montreal. Their music is hard to describe, and besides, I hate labels. I guess alternative rock would be the best choice. Their sound is diverse, mainly because of the widespread influences which the band members have. These members are (from left to right in the above picture):
Jeff Pearce, Bass
Paul Wilcox, Percussion
David Usher, Vocals
Mark Makoway, Guitar
Kevin Young, Keyboards
They have had two major releases, Creature and Silver, and the lyrics to both can be found on this page.

While I am a huge fan of the music, I do have an alterior motive for this page. Canada is incredibly blessed with amazing musical talent, and I feel that they should be promoted as much as possible. Eventually, there will be links to as many other Canadian band's homepages as I can find.

Moist Played in Halifax at The Dalhousie Student Union Building on February 21st, 1997 AND I WAS THERE, along with my former minion/current friend Steve, my brother Jarrod and his girlfriend Jayme. Aside from the AMAZING concert, we had backstage passes and got to go back and meet the guys! IT WAS INCREDIBLE! Need proof? I GOT PICTURES! Me with all the guys, one by one!

Music has always been one of the most important parts of my life. Although I cannot actually play, I identify myself through the sounds I hear and surround myself with. I had given up on music for a while. I had nothing new, nothing that had stirred my soul, so to speak. I waited for the new Pearl Jam, but even it fell short. Old favorite's were doing nothing for me. Then I got a copy of Moist's new CD, Creature. And I was resurrected. Buy the CD, listen to Ophelia, listen to the guitar chords in the background and tell me that they don't hit somepart of your brain that was asleep. Dramatic? Perhaps, I am an Arts major after all.

This page will eventually become a Moist info center, if all goes as I plan. I don't want this to be a "pin-up" page, there's more to this band than a "hot" lead singer. With Alanis and Donna Lewis on the radio and internet, there's enough bullshit floating around out there without me adding to it. And so, I'll leave this for now, an unfinished work.

I take my leave, with promises for the future......
