REUNION NOTICE
The 4th annual "Southeastern K-9 Family Camp-Out" will again be hosted by the 39th Scout Dog Platoon. It will tale place over the over the Labor Day weekend in 2003. In contrast to the first year's event that was held at my property on Edisto Island along the coast, this year we will again be inland near Mountain Rest, South Carolina. This is in the northwest corner of South Carolina within the Sumter National Forest on property owned by Johnny Mayo (1970-71) near the Chattooga river. This river is designated as a "National Wild & Scenic River", and is where the Burt Reynolds movie "Deliverance" was filmed. In addition to ample camping sites, Johnny has five cabins that he has personally hand built on the property that can be used by those without camping gear. If anyone requires special access facilities, let us know in ample time and we will let you know what we can do to accommodate your needs. The site is about 30 miles north of exit #1 on Interstate 85, and about 40 miles west of Greenville, S.C.  This makes it within fairly convenient driving distance for handlers from Alabama, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and eastern Tennessee.  This is a no-cost affair, so your only expenses will be your transportation, food, and drinks. (to help with our costs, voluntary tips WILL accepted if offered) Reservations will be necessary so that we will know what to expect. Cabin assignments will be made in the order that reservation replies are received, so don't wait too long to decide unless you plan on tent camping.  I have set up a website at http://k9camp.8k.com with detailed maps, directions, photos of the facilities, and activities.  For more detailed information and reservations, contact Johnny at jd.sue@worldnet.att.net or myself at Dogman39IPSD@excite.com
