ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Our town is located in north Greece, Macedonia. Giannitsa is a small town of about  30.000 inhabitants.
The school located on the east end of the town, on a low hill, is a fifteen years old building preserved in an excellent condition.
It has more than 15 different classes for six double classes. There is a theatre room, a small gym, a computer class equipped with 14 pcs and two classes with a small dining room for the extended shift classes. A huge school yard surrounds the building and there are playgrounds for all team sports.
The majority of the students are grand children of greek refugees from Asia minor who were 'exchanged' with muslim habitants after the liberation of the area from the othoman empire.

The school participates in a Comenius- Socratis  euro-programme cooperating with other european schools from Italy and Austria
The italian school is the ““scuola media Padre Pio““  of Altamura, Puglia
The austrian school is the ““ dr Adolf Shaerf ““ hauptschule of Herzogenburg, low Austria.
There is also a perspective of enhancing our cooperation with one more partner from Romania, but still things are in progress until the preparatory meeting in Altamura, Italy , on May 2003.
