Tales People Tell

Hey, this is where I will be posting some of the stuff I have been working on.  I write very slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly and I only have a few things to show for it.    Ah well, sooner or later, you never know...

Anyway, here's the plan for the set of short stories which I have been working on for a while now:  I'm writing a series of narrations/monologues all from different points of view about various subjects.  In a way I see them as tragic puzzles of what's-in-a-story which the reader will have to figure out on his or her own.  The idea is to create my own urban myths as told by characters who each become part or the stories they tell, based on their reactions to the tales and/or their own personal involvement in the events of the stories.  I haven't officially decided yet how I want to connect all the tales together, but there have been some themes to arise from the stories I've actually finished so far.

Tales People Tell
These are only the stories that I have finished; I may post my ideas for future stories later on.

Leidah    !!*WARNING*!!  This story contains lots and lots of offensive language and a negative attitude towards organized religion.  That doesn't mean it's a bad story.  It's just a warning; if you automatically don't like things that deal with that kind of language and blasphemy then you probably won't want to read this.  Then again, my advice is to read past the obvious and ask *why* it is the way it is.

Frostbytten    NEW!!  Hooray!  After a year and a half since its conception, this story is finally at a stage where I'm going to say that it's finished.  I worked on it for my senior English capstone course, and my classmates hated it, but my professor liked it.   Go figure--anyway, taste is subjective.  But since I've come this far, and I'm so gosh durn proud of this fic that it's too hard to be modest, it can't hurt to read it, can it?

Driving Home    This is a piece which I wrote a few years ago, then went back and mystied.  Well, it's already on the page, so there's not much point in taking it off, just in case anyone should read it.  Though, I do have to admit that I'm not in love with it.

Well, that's it for now.  Thanks for taking the time to read my stuff!  (If you did, that is...)  If you would like to see more of my creative processes in a more off-the-wall setting (particularly in connection with Ranma 1/2, my favorite anime series), try out my home page at the
