The Amateur Radio
Trust (ART) is a legally Registered Charitable endowment founded
by Dr. S. Devarajan (VU2FTF),
Dr.S.Mahadevan
(VU2SWM) and N.A.Ramasubramania
Raja (VU2OGQ) in the year 1998 (World Amateur Radio Centenary, Platinum
Jubilee in India) for the promotion of interest in Amateur Radio Communication
and experimentation, for the establishment of communication networks in
the event of disasters or other emergencies and for the maintenance of
fraternalism and a high standard of conduct.

To provide opportunity to meet together periodically to exchange ideas
and experiences and to promote social and cultural contacts amongst the
HAM fraternity in general.

To establish and maintain the Club Station and the VHF Repeater Station
to provide facilities for investigating and conducting experiments in wireless
communication.

To arrange and conduct exercises in amateur radio such as field days, expeditions,
fox hunts, contact contests etc.

To provide opportunity for the HAMs to engage themselves in constructing
amateur radio equipments and accessories and in any other activity related
to the development of amateur radio.

To advance and propagate amongst the public about the hobby, amateur radio
by encouraging and arranging lectures, seminars, exhibitions, demonstrations
etc.

To provide training programmes & conduct classes to the persons interested
in becoming HAM.

To publish periodicals, books, study materials etc.

To establish and operate QSL Bureau.

To establish and maintain a library dealing with amateur radio & related
subjects.

To recognize and enhance the value of Amateur service to the public as
voluntary non-commercial communication service particularly while providing
emergency communication links during disaster, medical emergency and emergencies
like fire, flood, storm, earthquake, riot, commotion, accident etc.
