Operation "AdoptSoldier"

'The World Trade Center should, because of its importance, become a living representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his belief in the cooperation of men, and through this cooperation his ability to find greatness.'

Operation "AdoptSoldier"

Support Our Military & Adopt A Service Member
Written September 13, 2001

Effective Tuesday December 11, 2001:

At this time, we are NOT accepting new people to adopt our soldiers.
However, if you are in the military and wish to receive mail, please read on.

During this trying of times, many of us want to do all we can to help. Some people are unable to donate blood or to donate financial assistance. So after spending the last few days wondering what I could do to help, I thought about our military. These are the men and women who willingly offer their lives to protect our country and our beliefs. At times such as these many people need support. Families and friends of lost loved ones, those who have been lost, those working hours on end to pick up the pieces so we can reassemble our lives as best as possible. These people deserve our love and prayers and whatever we can do. So during these times lets all pull together to show our service people how much they are cared for and loved and offer them encouragement to get them through these toughest of times.

What I have decided to do is flood our military men and women with mail full of encouragement and love. I of course cannot do this alone so I ask for the assistance of my friends, neighbors and fellow Americans to help show our men and women that we will stand behind them and appreciate them. This is NOT a dating service!

Many service men and women stationed throughout the world don't have the friends and family support that others do. Many are single with little family. One card, letter or small package from you could brighten their day!

If you are interested, please click here to ADOPT a soldier. This is FREE! By clicking here and sending an e-mail,to me, I will e-mail you information about the program. However, all mail after you have joined the program will come from me. All I am doing is finding a way for us to show our support to those who need it. The only cost to you is that of a stamp or card or a package of goodies... whatever you decide to send. If you are a civilian and would like to write to the soldiers, please use the above link.

ATTENTION SERVICE MEMBERS:  You are welcome to join our group! We would love to send you TONS of mail. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Retired, Active Duty, Guard, Reserve! It doesn't matter, all of you are important to us!! If you are a member of our Armed Forces and wish to join our program, please email us with the following information. Rest assured that your posting is confidential and will be shared with no more than 1-5 Americans wishing to correspond with you.

A few people have asked about my "Credibility". I have thought long and hard how to answer this. I am not a business woman, I am not a service member. I don't own a large company. I am a 25 year-old stay-at-home mother. I am doing this of my own free will and from my home computer. I have a grandfather who served 20 years in the Army. He had two tours in Viet Nam and was shot many times. It is a miracle that he is still with us, but he has medical problems due to his military career. He displays his medals proudly and always talks about his "buddies" that he stood beside in battle. I have 2 uncles who are very dear to me that are active duty Army. They have been in for as long as I can remember. One served in Desert Storm and I never felt fear like I did not knowing where he was or if he was OK or if he would even come home. What is my credibility? Love. Love for my family, love for my country and determination to let those who fight for my freedom know how much they mean to me. That is my credibility.
