"Alaska Gold From The Blue Ribbon Mine"
Here is some gold
recovered from a bulk test at the Blue Ribbon Mine, Dutch Hills,
Alaska.
And here is some
more.
You can
see that much of the gold is quite rusty. It's also coarse. This
tells us that it has not traveled far from it's source, and that
some of it, at least, was subjected to oxidization. (That's how
it became rusty). Remember this, for when you are panning, not
all that is gold glitters. People have actually thrown away the
rusty nuggets, thinking they were something else!
