Getting There

Sometimes, as the saying goes, getting there is half the fun. This is what the ford at Peters Creek looks like sometimes, when it rains: Also, the swift currents will cut deep channels into the streambed. This picture shows only one of those channels. Avoid places that the water appears still on the surface, keep your momentum up, angle the crossing so that you are not driving against the current, and you may be able to drive a car like these people did, all the way to the mine:But I don't recommend it.
