Calista's patience with certain questions has worn thin

You've seen Calista Flockhart on magazine covers and all over TV this
week, but one place you won't be seeing the bony "Ally McBeal" star is
                      on the "Today" show Monday.

Flockhart, who's hyping her new movie, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," was scheduled to do a
live interview on NBC's daily morning show. But after the plans were made, Flockhart's handlers
reportedly gave producers a caveat: "Today's" interviewer wouldn't be permitted to ask the
underfed actress about her weight - or lack thereof.

"They said, 'OK, you can talk about the movie, but not this,'" a "Today" insider told the New York
Daily News. "We never agree to restrictions."

                          Flockhart's flack confirmed the story.

"She did pull out," the spokesperson said. "It's her right. She wants to promote 'Midsummer' and
she's done a lot of addressing of the issues that have been out there. She would prefer not to
                      discuss it."

The "issue," of course, being the widespread presumption that Flockhart suffers from an eating
                      disorder.

She's still expected to do "Late Night with David Letterman" Monday, and "The Rosie O'Donnell
Show" Tuesday morning. She apparently does not fear that either talk-show host will ask, as
Connie Chung did earlier this week, "Are you OK?"
