WELCOME TO OUR TEST KIT PAGE

Using accurate test kits is a MUST to make quality decisions regarding your REEF.   Most of the test kits that we have found sold in local stores do not give repeatable, accurate results.  You MUST know your Reef's calcium levels to within say 20ppm, yet the Red Sea test kit has been reported by its users to give false and misleading results.  It simply does not work.  For these reasons we have applied the Industrial Standard testing methods to our test kits.  We also give you a standard that allows you to test the test kit!

DK HARDNESS test kit. This is an accurate alkalinity test kit. Each drop equals 1 dKH. For best results, your tank should be run at 8 to 18 degrees German Hardness.

Code 81550..30mls Large size (30ml). $15.00

COMPARE: A 15 ml test kit will cost over $15.00 in a local stores!! This kit is 30 mls and is very accurate.

Pinpoint pH meter
Code 87500

Replacement pH probes
Code 87555

Calibration fluid pH 7 & pH 10....... 25 ml each Comes in a 60 ml bottle and cap for easy storage and recalibration of your probe. This allows you to re-use your calibration fluid and provides a handy storage vial also. Your pH probe just fits in the opening.

Code 87570....pH 7 solution

Code 87590.. pH 10.solution

AC to DC 9 Volt supply
Code 87599 (USA

NOTE: For proper operation, a pH meter should be calibrated once per month. A reef pH meter should use pH 7 & 10 NOT pH 4. Probe replacement is only required when the unit will not function properly. Always keep your probe submerged. Both calibration fluids are required for calibration of pH meter.
REEF TIP: Keep your pH probe away from strong light but in an area of mild flow.

REEF TIP: Do you want to learn how sensitive your Reef is to pH swings? Set up a pH meter on continous operation and watch the swings from am to pm. See what happens when you run out of Kalkwasser. You will be amazed! Your testing will be reduced to once per month.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CHEAP CALCIUM TEST KITS THAT DON'T WORK.

WE HAVE TRIED THE RED SEA KIT AND IT IS NEITHER ACCURATE OR REPEATABLE.  YOU WILL

NOT BE ABLE TO KNOW WHAT YOUR REAL CALIUM LEVELS ARE WHEN YOU USE IT.  THE ACR TEST

KIT IS BASED ON THE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD METHOD USED FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS.

CALCIUM TEST KIT - Designed for the REEF. High Quality with a low Price and economy in mind.. Based on the industry standard testing procedure with quality reagents and equipment with equal accuracy to the best in the trade.(same titrant test) 50+ tests. Comes with NaOH reagent, testing vial, 1ml pipet, 1ml syringe, indicator tablets, and EDTA titrant and instructions PLUS a nozzle cap so that you can make up a DI (demin. water) cleaning bottle. You can purchase Demin Water (no Calcium) at your local supermarket. Your RO water will not be good enough unless you have a DI pack with it. This kit has twice the sensitivity of the LaMotte test kit and gives you the most accurate method of determining your Calcium level. available NOTE: Some people have difficulty with the end point from purple to blue due to possibly a small color blindness. Solution is to add no more then two drops once the solution turns purple. You have reached the end point. Record the value. It is simple and accurate.

CODE 81600............................................$40.00

COMPARE: To import a very similar test kit (Lamonte) into Canada cost us $52.+ but our's is twice as sensitive allowing greater accuracy in determining your Ca levels. Plus our kit comes with a standard to ensure your results are correct over the years that you have it.

Magnesium Test Kit- Here is an accurate test kit for determining the magnesium in your reef. Magnesium must be maintained at 1450 ppm so that your calcium and dKH will be maximized. Some reef salts are low in magnesium. For example at a magnesium level of 600 ppm a maximum of 250 Ca will occur in your tank. At about 800-900 ppm magnesium the maximum calcium is about 375 ppm. If you add our Ultra-Calcium and do not get the expected increase in calcium concentration then magnesium most likely is the culprit. We have live sand in our tanks and feed our Ultra-Kalkwasser. Calcium levels are 550-575ppm. dKH is 15 ppm. If your calcium is low due to magnesium then your strontium is also low. Reef tip: If you can not raise you dKH above 10-11 with Ultra Kalkwasser then you may have a small chloride build up. Do not worry. Add our Ultra-Buffer (KH Builder) slowly over several days until your pH increased to 8.3- 8.4 with Kalkwasser. Do not mix Ultra-Buffer with Ultra Kalkwasser but drip in slowly in a separate line. It is rapid pH changes that effect inverts the most.

Denitrator: Designed for use in or outside of the aquarium. Size is 4"x9" and comes with a bottle of Bio-Vital Combo and instructions. Contains the best medium to grow (not plastic bio balls ) and support the needed bacterial populations to remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Soon you will have zero nitrates (<<1 ppm) It may take 3 to 4 weeks to develop the necessary bacterial population ( For photo see Products white cylinder on the left hand side).
