Chapter 16: .Last.Day.of.Suffering.

Back in Tulsa, Isaac, Taylor and Zac had been relaxing in their room listening to some of their favorite CDs for the past couple hours. Tay didn't seem like himself, or rather the Taylor he had become over the past few days.

"Hey dude, are you all right?" Ike asked, concerned.

"Never been better," Tay answered mechanically.

"Yes you --" Zac protested, but was cut off by Ike.

"That's great. What's the deal, though? You don't seem happy."

"Oh, but Ike, I am! You don't know how happy I am. It's just so overwhelming!" Tay claimed, suddenly coming to life.

"I'm getting confused here. Earlier today you were a mess and now you're thrilled to pieces. WHY?!" Zac questioned.

"Today was the last day of suffering. Tonight, I will get my memory back," Tay answered somewhat distantly.

"Huh?!" Ike and Zac muttered.

"She's going to help me. I'm going to be me again. I'm not sure if I should trust her, but she has never been wrong..." Tay thought outloud.

Both Ike and Zac thought he was finally going to crack. "WHO?!" Ike asked.

"Drew," Tay answered in a tone saying "duh, you should know!"

"Oh no," Zac muttered as his head shot up at the mention of her name. "You can't trust her, Tay!!"

"Yes, I can! Don't you dare tell me who to trust!"

"Stop it! This is stupid! You two are fighting over Taylor's imaginary dream girl!" Ike interrupted.

"She's real!!" both Tay and Zac yelled together. They gave each other strange looks saying "how would you know?" It was actually quite humorous.

"You know what, Ike? Why don't you just bite me. I am so sick of your stupid act. Maybe you should remove your head from the giant hole in your butt and clue into the real world. You are older than me, yes, but it doesn't mean you're automatically superior!! Just get off of that high horse you're on. I'm much more mature than you EVER give me credit for, and I'm sick of this 'I'm so experienced because of my age and I'm going to make sure everyone knows' thing. Maybe you haven't noticed, but things happen. Unexplained. People do witchcraft, voodoo, worship satan... maybe this girl is a dream, but you know what? Someone is behind it...and it's not Tay! God, you infuriate me! I'm outta here! Tay, if you need to talk, I'll be in the treehouse. it's out back, ya can't miss it. As for you, Ike...why don't you think about things. Or are you still too busy gloating over your supreme intelligence?" Zac spat out uncontrollably and stormed off.

"What the...MAN! I don't get him and his moods. I'm getting out of this cursed room. I need to get some aspirin for this mother of a headache," Ike muttered and trudged down the stairway.

"Oh well," Tay said to no one in particular and shrugged. "I guess I'll go to bed early. Not too bad...it's only 9:00," he yawned and haphazardly changed into his sleeping attire. Clumsily, he climbed into bed, and as he was dozing off, a voice of genuine love spoke.

"Don't let your guard down for anything, Taylor. You're in for danger..." but the warning quickly faded from his mind as his subconscious began to take over.
