The World of Galadia

The world of Galadia could be easily compared to most Japanese console RPGs. Just squish 'em all together and you'll have Galadia. Galadia has technology, powersuits (no mechs sorry), magic, martial arts, aliens, magic girls, psychics, strange creatures and more. (Believe me there's more.)

The History of Galadia

(The abbreviation AB means After The Beginning.)

0AB: The World Was Created (See Legends and Religion Section)

1-1,000,000,000AB: The World grew and evolved its plant, animal, and energy life to what it is today.

(BT: Stands for the Beginning of Time which symbolizes when the first animal on the world made a civilization.)

0BT: The Ancestors as we call them built a huge empire and reigned over all things.

1800BT: The Ancestors release Core Energy without containment. Destroys the whole continent of Risel.

2500BT: A Group of Ancestor Scientists discover the procedure to contain Core Energy. The Corebots are developed.

3000BT: A race called simply the energy beings makes contact with the Ancestors.

5600BT: The energy beings move to live with the new race called humans and combine with them creating hybrids.

6000BT: The Ancestors grow tired of this existence and leave through a portal to a different dimension.

(HR is the abbreviation for human reign)

0HR(6300BT:) The humans form together into a large empire called Jiza and discover three new races. The animal men are found.

600HR: A large earthquake sinks the Grand Wall Mountains low enough to cross. The essens, and the human kingdom known as Kyalt were found.

690HR: A group of priests form the Endolar religion.

780HR: The priests succeed in a slow take over of a human kingdom known as Dryd.

850HR: The Endolarins grow into a large empire and rename Dyrd to Endolar and start to force other nations to convert to Endolar.

930HR: The Kyalt takeover the three weak nations (Rim, Gama, Peprus) and add them to their empire.

1000HR: Jiza prospers with trade to Kyalt.

1030HR: Rebels protest over the technology that Jiza is importing.

1060HR: The new High Priest of Endolar loses control of the far reaches of his empire.

1160HR: Endolar is hit by a hurricane. They take it as an omen and halt the conversions.

1260HR: A new empire is born called the Imperium. The Imperium reintroduce Core Technology.

1320HR: The Minon empire is founded by a group of city-states. Jiza undergoes a time of depression and loses power.

1370HR: The citizens of Jiza rebel. The war ends with Jiza splitting up into Jiza and the new nation Carna.

1430HR: The nation called Widowin is formed by a group of magic schools. A hurricane hits Endolar killing thousands and destroying crops.

1434HR: Carna's two strongest nobles feud over land.

1439HR: A war starts in Carna. The two nobles take control over each side.

1443HR: Endolar Priests are caught with their pants down (Literally) in a Jizan carnal house.

1447HR: The barbarians raid the weakened Carna's outer towns and villages.

1451HR: Endolar crowns a new High Priest. His name: Giden

1453HR: The Barbarians invade the outer parts of Carna.

1457HR: More and more monsters are roaming the land.

1464HR: Rebels form to try to overthrow Widowin's archmages.

1465HR: The Present

The Nations

There are seven major nations.. Jiza, Carna, Kyalt, Endolar, Minon, Widowin, and the Imperium. Each nation is different in many ways. Kyalt is the leader in non core technology. Jiza is the wealthiest nation due to its incredible merchants. Carna is stuck in the middle ages. Endolar is a strong theocracy with powerful healers. Minon is the leader in martial arts and training though they are stuck in a feudal Japan like time. Widowin controls strong magic. The Imperium holds the secret of Core Technology.

Jiza

Jiza is ancient beyond all other empires. In the beginning Jiza was actually a large tribe led by Chief Oman. Oman was a cunning man. He convinced the other tribes to unite with him to help protect from monsters and primitive human barbarians who outnumbered the civilized humans ten to one. The chiefs who agreed to join became sub-chiefs having control over their respected tribes. As the years went on Jiza grew and grew. Each new chief was strong and led well. As humans advanced in technology and ideas Jiza slowly grew into an Empire.

Jiza Today: After a long civil war with Carna, Jiza finally told Carna that they would agree to allow those who wanted to stay with the old ways to go to Carna and those who wanted to use Kyaltin technology and make their own technology as well.

Jiza is almost as powerful as Kyalt though they still do not have the technology the Kyalts do. The one thing that Jiza did come up with was airplanes. They would trade their airplane designs to Kyalt for weapons, ground vehicles, and appliances.

Jiza is full of many heavy polluting factories. Jiza hasn't yet realized that the the factories are dangerous to the environment and population, so they haven't taken any precautions. Now it's to late and Jiza's sky is always gray with the smog. When Kyalt told them about the precautions Jiza said screw it, they already messed up the place so they never took the precautions.

Jiza's government dates back to the Tribal Times. The 'chief' is now called the Grandeur. The sub chiefs are Overlords. The Overlords each control one of the seven cities in Jiza. The Grandeur controls the capital (Jiza) and can gain control of any other city he wants to at any time. The whole system is not unlike feudalism.

Carna

Carna is stuck in a middle age like technology. Of course they do this purely by choice. Carna was originally the outer part of Jiza. They rebelled after Jiza declared an alliance with Kyalt and that they would integrate Kyalt's technology into their society. The people in Carna are very traditional and conservative.

Since 1439 Carna has been in a civil war itself. It was started by two nobles. The Januwin and the Pulan family. Their feud led to the civil war and their feud fuels the war. The other nobles took sides and they have been fighting ever since.

In 1447 the barbarians started to take advantage of the war. They raided the outer reaches raping and pillaging the villages.

Kyalt

Kyalt is the technological center of the world. Kyalt is the strongest and largest of all the empires. Only the Imperium would have a chance against the Kyalt. The nation of Kyalt is full of sprawling urbanized areas.

The Kyalt are the ones who designed a different form of producing electricity than transferring Core into an energy changer. They figured out that lodestones could produce electricity if spun around something (in brief). They also developed gunpowder, combustion engines, and much more.

Kyalt's government is ran like a corporation. The government is in it for the money. Taxes are very heavy and most citizens work for the government. The military contains many different troop types from dog troopers to cybernetic warriors.

All Kyalt's citizens are implanted with a tracking and recording device so that they know everything about a person. Most people aren't even aware of these devices. Not only that but all of their cyber implants sold on the open market are also equipped with tracking devices.

Endolar

Endolar is a religion started many centuries ago. Even today it is the most followed religion in the world. The Endolar faith involves the birth of a powerful holy being called Galadia. Galadia found the world and gave the animals and monsters that resided there the ability to evolve. He chose his favorites to evolve into intelligent beings and so they are today. The Endolar believe that Galadia is resting in a far off planet and that they will evolve into purely spiritual things when Galadia comes back.

Some factions in Endolar believe that Galadia wishes them to come to him to show that they are ready for such an evolution. These factions have been working heavily on entering space. They have already sent many men and women into space and have even set up satellites and an orbital temple called Calupon. They are now working on getting to the closest planetary body to the world. Arum the blue moon of the world.

The main city in Endolar is a sprawling beautiful city. The main monastery spreads its designs all over the city. There are many complex engravings, etchings, and embroidery all over the city. This is where the Theocrats of Endolar live and rule.

Some Endolarins have been reported to have a special connection with Galadia. These citizens are known for their ability to heal and strengthen people and animals. No one knows why these people are chosen for some are devout worshippers and others are evil incarnate.

Endolarin technology is rather low. They basically believe anything beyond the technology of the late, late, Renaissance (unless religious in nature) is evil and a sign of following the atheist Kyaltins.

Minon

Minon is stuck in a feudal Japan like time. Minon’s government is run by a single Emperor. The Emperor controls everything in Minon, from the simplest peasant to the wealthiest noble. If he wants it he gets it. Recently, Minon has been in total chaos because their Emperor has been assassinated and he had no one to take his place. If you want to visit Minon you have to be well armed.

Minon is THE place to study martial arts. Almost everybody in Minon studies at least one martial art. All of the martial arts in Minon emphasize the use of Ki to greatly reduce pain and damage. Of course some people have even been able to shoot Ki blasts by channeling the energy of the universe.

The technology level of Minon is very low. The citizens simply don’t believe technology can better their lives.

Widowin

Widowin is the leader in the magical arts. Widowin was formed by many magic schools joining together in fear of the Kyaltian Magic Hunters. The nation was very small and weak in the beginning, but grew in power rather quickly.

The nation is ran by 5 Archmages, called the Council of Widowin (obviously). Lately they have been abusing there power and many citizens of Widowin are rebelling against the Archmages. The rebels have been slowly gaining in power, but will probably never be able to beat the Archmages elite army of wizards.

Most people who study magic learn in Widowin. The number of magic schools in Widowin is countless. Widowin is also the most beautiful of all the nations. It is covered with lush rainforest and home to many different animals.

Imperium

The Imperium is the holder to the secret of Core technology. They have also reintroduced the Corebots, large mech like robots that stand about 30 feet. These Corebots require a great amount of energy so Core are the only things that power them (for a full explanation of Core technology look below).

The Imperium is one of the smallest nations but controls one of the best armies. The government works much like the government of the United States, except they do not have a president only a congress.

Major Cities

Barbarian Tribe

Okay, so its not really a city but its worth mentioning. The Barbarian Tribe is a large group of savage barbarians living in the outskirts of Carna. Recently they have been thriving, due to the large civil war going on in Carna.

Feren

Feren is the diplomatic center of the world. Feren is not in any nation, but has a small area of its own. This city is where all the nations meet to discuss international affairs.

Tindal

Tindal, nicknamed the Junktown, is the best area to repair broken equipment. The whole city is covered in junk and garbage. Tindal is located in Kyalt.

Cyberia

Cyberia is the base network server for the world. Cyberia is also the larges city in Galadia (it resembles Midgar from FF7) and the capital of the most powerful nation, Kyalt.

Tikan Islands

The Tikan Islands is a small chain of islands of the coast of Widowin. The Tikan Islands are a favorite place to retire to. Tikan is also said to have the best food on Galadia.

There are many more towns and villages, but there to small to even mention.

Core Technology

You've been hearing all this crap about Core Technology and your probably wondering what the hell it is. Core are small balls (about 6" in diameter) that instead of having energy coming from them, have energy going into them from the inside that intern create an infinite amount of energy. Confused ? Well don't worry it's not that important to know what it is.

With this infinite amount of energy people can power mechs, robots, or anything else that requires a heavy amount of energy.

Legends and Religions

The Creation

The Creation is what the Endorlarins refer to as the beginning of of Galadia. The legend is probably one of the most widely known legend of all. The legend follows as so: "In the beginning Galadia was nothing but a small, lonely, planet that burned with fire. It could not nor would not be home to any beautiful life forms. Galadia seemed forever doomed. But, then a Shining Light came forth, and told this small planet that he would make it beautiful. On one condition, this planet had to hold the Shining Light's most valuable possession. The planet agreed, and the Shining Light hid his treasure deep inside the planet. Then the Light shined down a magnificent beauty to the planet. Flowers bloomed, trees grew, rivers flew, this small planet became beautiful. Then the light said 'My name is Galadia, and yours shall be to'. Galadia then told the planet that if his treasure is ever unearthed, he will be back and will destroy everything." From this small legend came the most popular religion, Endolar (see below). Many nations believe this legend is fake and so have not tried digging any thing up (also some of them are afraid to). But, there have been rumors circulating that Kyalt is starting a project to try to dig up Galadia's Treasure.

The Endolar Religion

The Endolar religion was started by a small group of priests who stumbled across a small scroll case left behind by the Ancestors. Inside was the legend of The Creation (above). The priests took the legend very seriously and decided to start a new religion from the small legend. The religions belief is that Galadia will soon come to take all the good and righteous people to a better place. There are some branches of Endolar that believe Galadia will simply come and destroy everything. Endolar is the most followed religion and got so large that the Endolarin Priests created a new nation by the name of Endolar.
