SELF EMPLOYED FINE ARTIST

Exhibited in professional, juried shows and been invited to participate in many group and one person shows in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas. Places of exhibition have included Lakeview Museum, Peoria, Illinois; Illinois State Fair Professional Artist Exhibition; Springfield Art Association, Springfield, Illinois; Center for the Visual Arts Gallery, Normal, Illinois; Kirkland Fine Arts Center, Decatur, Illinois; Tarble Arts Center, Charleston, Illinois; Decatur Public Library, Decatur, Illinois; Decatur Area Arts Council, Decatur, Illinois; Sheldon Swope Art Gallery, Terre Haute, Indiana. Represented in many private and public Collections.

Sales galleries are: Barucci Galleries, St. Louis, Missouri; Lakeview Museum Gallery, Peoria, Illinois; and the Edmond Craig Gallery, Fort Worth, Texas.

 

ART INSTRUCTOR

As a paid employee and as a volunteer, taught academic and nonacademic classes in drawing, oil painting, watercolor, printmaking, art appreciation and ceramics for adults and children. Worked for various community agencies including Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois; Richland Community College, Decatur, Illinois; YWCA in Raleigh, North Carolina and Decatur, Illinois; Decatur Art Center; Adolph Meyer Clinic; St. Mary’s Hospital; C.E.T.A.; Decatur Area Arts Council; Decatur Neighborhood Arts Program; Decatur Senior Citizen’s Center; and District #61 Schools, Decatur, Illinois.

 

FREELANCE COMMERCIAL ARTIST

Created graphic designs, painted murals, illustrated and laid out ads, brochures and posters, designed theatrical sets, constructed displays, designed and drafted plans for remodeling projects and structural additions, and drew and painted many commissioned portraits. Experienced with photography and B/W darkroom techniques. Familiar with lettering styles and printing processes including silk screen. Experienced with computer graphics and PC desktop publishing. Worked as a courtroom artist for television news.
