This August, Bravo explores the work of prominent television writers, directors, actors and comedians by examining the television and radio influences that have formed their careers - THE MUSEUM OF TELEVISION & RADIO: INFLUENCES premieres exclusively on Bravo on Sunday, August 6 at 7:30PM/ET and 8:30PM/PT. This series of original half-hour shows will be hosted by film and television veteran, Alan Alda, and marks The Museum of Television & Radio's first-ever continuing series. INFLUENCES will spotlight a wide range of modern-day creators and performers including David Chase, Larry Gelbart and Tracey Ullman. In honor of INFLUENCES' host, Bravo will follow the series premiere with an evening-long tribute to the legendary star of both television and films. Inside The Actors Studio: Alan Alda, an exclusive one-hour conversation between Alda and host James Lipton, will premiere immediately following the debut of INFLUENCES at 8:00PM/ET (and 9:00PM/PT). Following this intimate interview, Bravo presents a special presentation of one of Alda's films - Same Time, Next Year will air at 9:00PM/ET (and 10:00PM/PT). ``I've loved watching these shows,'' says Alan Alda, Host, INFLUENCES. ``It's been fascinating, and at times even moving, to see the open enthusiasm of these creative people for the work of the artists who inspired them.'' comedian John Cleese and the Monty Python series influenced his career, and

About the Host INFLUENCES host Alan Alda has been a television icon since 1972 when he first debuted as Captain Benjamin Franklin ``Hawkeye'' Pierce on the long-running series, M*A*S*H. Five Emmys (and 28 nominations) later, Alda is the only artist to be honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as a performer, writer and director. A member of the Board of the Museum of Television & Radio, Alda has won three Directors' Guild Awards, six Golden Globe Awards and seven People's Choice Awards for Favorite Male Television Performer. In addition to performing on M*A*S*H, Alda also wrote 18 episodes and directed thirty-one. After directing several episodes of M*A*S*H directed several sequences in the Marlo Thomas television special, Free to Be...You and Me. He created, wrote and co-produced the television series We'll Get By and co-produced The Four Seasons, a 1984 television series based on the hit film. Alda's extensive career as a television actor, which goes back to appearances on such early series as Route 66 and The Phil Silvers Show, recently includes a guest-starring role on E.R. and starring roles in the television films Jake's Women, The White Mile, The Glass House and Kill Me If You Can (for which he received an Emmy (c) nomination for his portrayal of Caryl Chessman). During the last seven years he has traveled the world interviewing scientists for Scientific American Frontiers, the series he hosts for PBS. As host of INFLUENCES, Alda will provide commentary for each episode's featured guests, briefly discussing their work and placing it in context before turning the camera's over to the guest themselves.
