It was a cloudy and somewhat stormy afternoon in September of '93 and I was in my car at Jacksonville Beach looking at cloud formations through my SLR camera. I happened to look at a hazy, nondescript cloud coming out of the northeast. Its movement and shape was different from the rest. I set my zoom lens to maximum at 300mm to get another view. Then this object came out of it bringing some haze with it. It was less a mile out and about forty degrees above the eastern horizon over the ocean. It hovered momentarily and my automatic focus locked on it. I immediately took the picture. By the time the shutter opened, the trail of haze clinging to and following the craft surrounded it. And, by the time the shutter had returned it was gone from view. I gave up the moment, 1/250 of a second I think, to the film that captured it. The whole sighting lasted about a second or two and was the only time that I had seen a UFO in daylight up until then. A second can make all the difference in the world sometimes. It's always been one second after another. And yes, I am capable of making mistakes. I also have no idea where it went.

Please let me try to clarify. I don't believe that this was any ordinary cloud. The cloud seemed like a grey haze from a distance. But, its movement was incongruous with the other clouds, and its shape much different. It moved in a straight direction, approximately northeast to south-southwest at about 15mph and stopped out over the ocean. And then I saw this classic disc-shaped object, a shiny silvery-grey in color with something like a dome in the center on top. It didn't seem very big. And if I had to guess, I'd say that it was less than fifty feet across. I figure only a few people could fit in it, but I had the impression that it was a single individual in control. It came flying out of the cloud in excess of 70mph, though I'm not sure of its speed, in about the same direction but about thirty degrees downward. It swooped to its right and up while slowing down, and then stopped in front of the cloud. That's when I took the picture. I could see it clearly before it stopped, but it had the effect like heat upon the atmosphere, roiling the air and kicking up mist and haze and distortion of light. I was somewhat dumbfounded. I was expecting to take another picture, but that was the last picture on the roll anyway. The cloud was still there though, moving away slowly. And, in this sighting I didn't hear any noise coming from it, just the sound of the surf.

I was disappointed myself when I saw my photo's results, knowing that had I been just a little quicker I would have captured on film the clear view that I had, unobstructed by the haze. The horizontal spotted streak across the lower half was some dirt across the film from processing, but the more I tried to clean the surface the more I scratched it. And, I didn't enhance either of these scans. I only did the opposite, making it a bit more blurry by using the dust filter in the first instance. It was more like what I saw, and I doubted anyone would accept the dots and colorful patterns of the image on film. I even felt a compulsion to destroy it. The first is the full frame of the photo and was reduced from a much larger file for the image above. The second scan is a close-up of the center section of the film, after I nearly destroyed it. The film seems like it may have been irradiated or something. Some specks of dust clung to it and could not be blown off. When I tried to clean off that light spotted streak of dirt from processing, all the outer edges and more disappeared leaving only the circle in the center. And, I made the brightness of the color slightly more toned down in the second, toning down the magenta and yellow. The second scan was focused a little differently and brought out a different color aspect.

I believe that this was a gift to me that I asked for. And, I thought I would share it with you. I would think there might be more photos available now that we have the internet. I kept this photo for five years before showing it. But maybe you remember what Jesus said about pigs and pearls, because you can only receive His Spirit if He chooses to give it to you, our hope of salvation and eternal life. That, and the limited ability of the human mind to comprehend such things are good reasons to keep silent. Also, a quote from the version I have on hand of the Tao Te Ching: "When a superior man hears of the Tao (way), he immediately begins to embody it. When an average man hears of the Tao, he half believes it, half doubts it. When a foolish man hears of the Tao, he laughs out loud. If he didn't laugh, it wouldn't be the Tao." I rejoice in the way things are, because God is in control.

And now, I don't want to talk about it anymore. I suppose I put up all these pages to sort of get these things off my chest, if anyone would listen, and to tell you that they do exist. I thought the photograph might be of interest to someone. I'm not trying to prove anything here. I'm just telling you like it is, calling it like I see it. It's of importance to me, no matter what you might think. Maybe you might think that I'm deluded, but I would say that you might be deluding yourself if you think the earth is not under the close scrutiny of extraterrestrials and probably has been for a long long time. JMHO. Mankind is not as alone in this universe as you might think. People can say every evil thing they want to about me. I still don't care. It doesn't change a thing. As far as I'm concerned, you can believe whatever you want to believe. It doesn't matter to me. I hope that you will extend to me the same courtesy of having the right to my own beliefs. From what I've seen lately, I guess that I would have to agree with those who think that humans are not yet ready or willing to have contact with extraterrestrials. And, I don't want to have anything to do with the religious dogmatists or those flaky "ufologists" either. I think it is probably a mistake for anyone who has any knowledge of extraterrestrials to discuss it with the general population of the United States. It might be better to keep it to yourself and let them wallow in their ignorance. ;) I just thought that I'd add my piece to this jigsaw puzzle called this life and times. (The truth, and only the truth, from my perspective.) I would say that we are hopefully looking for the correct answers, out of the limitless possibilities, to our questions. I would rather think that I looked for the correct answers rather than just accepting any answer or no answer at all.

And, I definitely want no part with the pagans, satanists, and occultists other than to say that the God calls for a humble and repentant spirit. Funny thing is that I'll never count on so-called Christians for anything good either. And I would suggest that they be careful about whom they call a demon, because slander of the Holy Spirit is a sin which is not forgiven.**_ That is not to say that all "angels" are good either, for in Revelations 12 it also says that Satan has his own angels. (But I also would not say that extraterrestrials are not also spiritual beings; neither am I saying that all extraterrestrials and angels have physical bodies. Maybe some pilot flying saucers and maybe others don't.) And I, myself, am more wary of those who claim to be good than those who make no such claim. Jesus said that you would know them by their fruits. He also asked them, according to a version from Matthew, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one, the God." But if you are a true Christian and can afford it, I ask that you send me a small donation through one of the links shown at the bottom of this page. We all have our own paths to follow, but I don't expect much good from the human race. I realize that love isn't "all you need" in all situations. Fear and violence are almost all that most people understand, but humanity's survival may depend on some cooperation and a cessation of hate. And when you talk about love and forgiveness, there have always been those who would test the limits. When you're in the stupid and violent existence bin, it is wise to be a knowledgeable warrior but not wise to try and match the stupidity and violence of the rest. Obviously, I feel that I was never meant to have anything to do with a great many people. There's a lot of people that I'm not going to bother, and I don't want them bothering me with threats and insults. So, don't worry about me seeking you out or joining in your arguments. The reality of the internet has been much different than my expectations. I fell for the hype, hoping to embrace the future and contribute something to society's culture; all to come to find that, by and large, it was a waste of time, effort, and money. I thought such a great tool of communication would be useful for more than pornography and people venting their spleens. So if you don't fit in those categories, then send me an email, if you like, and no spam please. But finally, to further quote John Lennon, "Love is the answer." I just came here to bear witness to the truth as I have been lucky enough to see. And, whether you do or don't accept my testimony, that's fine with me. :-)
