It is cute - two bedrooms, fairly big, brand new stove, fridge and celing and it is conected to a Zellers/Loblaws parking lot! It is also two blocks from the subway. It is perfect because it has all this and is only $850 a month, all included. I told Jeremy that when James and I move out, he is finding us the appartment. It was a good visit aside from the fact that most of Rob's stuff was either missing or broken. The broken things included a complete set of new dishes, several pots and pans, and their new computer. It had a big dent in the side as if somone had kicked it and it was quite obvious that someone had taken the case off of it, thus voiding the warranty! Rob was pissed. We couldn't stay too long because we'd miss our final bu from Longbranch. We ended up leaving around 11:15pm. Our friend Kurtis came with us most of the way. At one point on the subway ride, an announcement came on saying that because of a security threat, we couldn't go to High Park, so they stopped our train, made us get and catch a bus upstairs that would take us to the next subway stop past HP. It wasn't a long delay - maybe 10 to 15 mins, but it was fun. The busses taking everyone to the next station were packed. The best was when were on the bus, James, Kurtis and I managed to get seats while a great number of people had to stand and there were two older foreign ladies who kept standing on the bottom step of the bus, stopping the doors from shutting. They couldn't understand what everyone was trying to tell them about just moving until the bus started moving. The sound of the doors got very annoying after a while and they also would not move without being yelled at so that people could leave the bus.
~Today was an amazing day. I had to attend my first training session to become an assistant manager. The course was out in Vaughn, so my father came and picked me up this morning around 9am. We quickly reviewed the map and then headed out. It turns out that our destination was right beside a Ikea, so dad and I went in and had breakfast for $1! I didn't have enough time to finish it so I told him he could have the rest, gave him a hug and told him I'd see him around 2:30pm.

I was almost late because Ikea turned out to be a maze and there were no short cuts out. I had to follow all of the floor arrows until I was natural light. I made it out only to find the the parking lot was faaarrr larger than I remembered it being; by this time I had only 10 mins to start time and I wasn't even at the front door. I first had to retirve my binder from the car and then run. When I got to the door, it was locked. No one was around and I was afraid that I was going to be late so I started calling my managers to see if the knew anything, but of course no one answered. I was just starting to really panic when I saw an official-looking man coming towards me, he asked why I was here and then let me in.

I was pleased when I walked in to see that I knew one of the areea managers who was doing the training. I waved to him and it took him a minute to recognize me as we haddn't seen each other in several months. When he realized it was me he said "Hey Shyanne. Wow, you look different out of uniform (and in normal clothes)". He was a nice compliment. The day went well and I got a pack of butterscotch life savers from that manager for answering a question correctly. When I got it, I put it away in my binder for later, when later rolled around, I noticed the pack was open. Shortly after, I heard the manager giving another pack to someone else but joking that he had to have the first one. Not really thinking, I said "Oh, is that why my pack was open?" He thought about it for a second and then started grinning and said "Yea". It made me laugh. When we broke for lunch, I was sitting with a few other girls chatting and he joined us, which was nice. After lunch, we went back to the classroom for the last half of the class - which ran an hour and a half over schedule.

Afterwards, the manager said good bye to me and I went out to see my dad, who had been waiting for quite sometime. We had planned on going to see a movie, but nothing we really wanted to see was playing. We decided to get something to eat. Dad couldn't decide what he wanted so I chose Burger King - though only for the 'Shroom and Swiss burger. We finally get to the BK and find out that they stopped that sandwhich. We ate and chatted and decided to walk around Sherway Gardens for a little while. On the way in, I noticed that a lot of people were on their way out. I checked the store hours - today was until 6:00pm - and then my, watch said 5:50pm. We quickly ran to the pet store to find food for Amy only to see that they were locking the door as we arrived. We headed back to the car and decided to call it a night. He dropped me off at home and after chattiong with James' parents for a bit, I headed upstairs with the intention of watching 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. I got distracted when I saw that 'Selena' was on. I love that movie and it makes me cry everytime I watch it. I decided to look for some Selena sites on the WWW and ended up going to her family's official site and found an amazing song. The version on the site is a grainy one and I only know a little Spanish. After replaying the song for a little while and examining a few lyrics pages, I figured out the song to be No Quiero Saber. You can listen to the song HERE and read the lyrics HERE.
I have litterally been playing the song for 7 hours now. I started at around 8pm and it is 2:53am! The same site that has the lyrics also has a really great photo album, it has everything from vid caps to family photos.

The final event of the evening was James accidentally breaking a pearl and garnet necklace that my grandmother had given me. He has appologised many times and it was only an accident. Over all, it was a very good day. The only downsides were the rain, the necklace and the headache I now have.

I gave the lady my credit card and as she was folding and packing my pants, I noticed that the interac screen said 'insufficient funds'. I asked if that meant my card and she said yes. My jaw hit the floor. I signaled for James to come in (he was waiting on a bench in front of the store.) I filled him in as I was calling Ash for the number. James was a sweetie and paid for my pants (I have since paid him back). I called the security department and they told me that they spotted some unusual transactions on my card. We went over them and some one had stolen my numer and put over a thousand dollars on my card and maxed it out! As of right now my card is cancelled and everything is on pause until my new card arrives. I was told by several people that this actually happens all that time and is rather easy to fix.
~To start, I came down with a really bad cold Monday night. Today was worse...

I woke up this morning with the same cold I had yesterday and the day before. It was now however, at a plateau; I felt just as bad as yesterday, no worse. I really wanted to call in sick today, but I had done that yesterday so I decided that I would be off at 5:00 pm and that I could come home and rest after, I just had to make it through the day. The day was rather quiet because everyone was full of turkey and I'm not sure that they want to add chicken to the mix. Anyway, later that day, as I was aching to get home, something unbelievable happened. I can not bear to re-type what actually happened, so I will just copy and paste the report I had to write and submit to my manager. Names have been changed...

"On Wednesday, December 28th, 2005, I was supposed to finish my shift at 5:00 pm, but I had to stay because Romeo. the night cook, had not yet shown up for his 5:00 pm shift and Al (my manager) was leaving. (Al wanted someone else to stay and help David (evening shift lead) until someone from the evening shift arrived.) Julia (evening cashier) was supposed to arrive at 6:00 pm. So 6 pm had come and gone, and neither Julia or Romeo had arrived. David and I suspected that they were together because it was known amongst the staff members that they had been dating on and off for several months.

Sure enough, at 7:15 pm, they both walked in together. As they came in I asked ‘What happened?’ (as in why did they not arrive in time for their shifts). Neither responded to me, and they both proceeded to clock in. After clocking in, they went down stairs to get changed.

After about fifteen minutes (at around 7:30 pm), I started to get frustrated with how long Julia was taking to get ready, because I wanted to leave. Normally she is quite quick to get changed and get back upstairs, but for some reason she was taking a rather long time. I finally decided to go down and ask her to pass me my coat from the girl’s bathroom. I waited in the basement in front of the washrooms for about two minutes, neither of them came out. I was just about to knock on the girls’ door and I heard something coming from the storage room to my left. I walked over to the door and looked in to the hole where the doorknob should be (the doorknob is broken, so there is a hole in its place). I didn’t really see anything and as I stood back up, I heard an other noise, so I opened the door.

WARNING: Details

When I opened the door, there was Romeo and Julia, completely naked, having intercourse on a chair. Julia was sitting with her back to me, slouched in the chair, spread-eagle and Romeo was standing above her, holding onto the top of the chair with his left hand and thrusting.

They didn’t seem to notice me. I didn’t see much more because after a moment of taking it all in, I let go of the door and ran upstairs to tell David. I found David by the pizza table in the kitchen talking to Mike (morning cook who also had to saty until Romeo arrived). I blurted out to David ‘They are having sex! In the storage room!’. David looked shocked and confused. He immediately ran downstairs, Mike and I followed.

As soon as David entered the basement he yelled ‘GET DRESSED YOU TWO!’. This was interesting in its self, because David never yells. Next we hear Romeo laugh and then say ‘Oh shit!’.

At this point I was rather nervous and embarrassed and wanted nothing more then to get out of the restaurant, so I ran to the girls’ washroom, grabbed my coat and told David that I was leaving. I then ran upstairs and clocked out and I was putting my coat on. I left immediately after that. My time sheet says that I clocked out at 7:40 pm.

Next time he says anything to me I am going to explain that I am not paid to be on call and that I have no interest in working double shifts everyday. Also, I was quite sick last week and he wouldn't let me take Tuesday off. I had to get ready, show up and show him how sick I was. This girl has called in sick 4 times this week! Maybe I would help out more if I were being paid correctly. My last paycheck was wrong and my boss won't even speak to me about changing it. I plan on applying for 'real jobs' - Jobs in television - when we get back from the trip.

My last day was Thursday, and I almost didn't make it. I had woken up last Sunday morning with, from what I could tell by the faint pain in my nose, was the emerging inklings of a cold. It got worse over the next few days and I was sent home from work on Tuesday night because I was extremely tired and sick, so I was rather wobbly on my feet. James had to work that night, so I was left alone and bored. Anyway, I was starting to feel a little better by Thursday, which was good because even if I were dying, I would still have attempted to make it in for the last day. I went to my section K classes for the last day instead of James' section A. It sucked a little because both classes (we only had Soft Skills and ENG) were cut short. The plan was for everyone from all the sections to meet later that night at Einstein's. So, to kill time, our friend Joe Gans took me, James and our friend Dannon Hennessey to go see A History Of Violence. I liked the film, but the best part was when a guy had just been shot in the face, insulted and kicked. The audience was silent, except for Dannon who was in hysterics for quite some time. Joe and I then got the giggles because Dannon could not stop laughing.

The movie ended around 4:30pm, so James and I went to hang out at my Aunt's place until it was time to leave for the party at 9:00pm. I had hoped to leave just after 8:00, but my dad came home and then my aunt came down and chatted with us fo a while. It was nice to see my dad, as I now live and work in Mississauga I don't get to see him often. We left and the bus didn't arrive until 9:00.

We couldn't remember which subway stop to get off at and since we were underground, I couldn't call anyone and ask. We jumped off at St. George and I proceeded to call Sherry for directions. She didn't pick up. I then tried Saf. Someone answered the phone, but it wasn't her. Joakim greeted me with a 'I'm Rick James bitch!'. I laughed my ass off. He was obviously quite drunk. We got back on the train and got off again at Queens Park station. We walked for ages and could not find any of the streets we were given as land marks. Frustereated, I called Saf again. As I was telling her that we could not find Beverly, a man on a bike standing next to us heard me and said 'two lights down and turn left'. We thanked him and went on our way. He was right. We found the bar and realized that if we had simply taken a left when we exited the station instead of a right, it would have taken less than a minute to get there because it was only two buildings from the station! Instead, we went in a big, frusterating circle.

Not everyone was there, but a lot were. From section K, there was Sherry Haycock, Safia Siad, Joakim Tjenell, Matt Heeley, Leo Barbosa, Jan Schoutsen, Bob Ireland and Mike Winestock. From section A was me, James, Greg Loomis, Jason Brown, Adrien Chin. From other sections were Mitra, a few othe people who's names I don't know and Oscar (who I almost roomed with when I moved from Oshawa). Funny enough, it was the first time Oscar and I spoke in person. He told me this story about how when I applied to be his roomate, it was down to me and another girl. I dropped out because I was unemployed, so she got it. Once she moved in, they became involved for about three weeks. Well, it ended when she had to be dragged from the appartment by two police officers.

One of our teachers, Andrew Ainsworth also showed up. At the bar, I only had two drinks: a sex on the beach (which James, Jan and Matt had a drink of, so technically I had sex on the beach with 3 men!) James had a burger & fries and did shots with Jan. We ended up playing a game of pool, me and Andy against Matt and Joakim. Joakim was drunk (I have pics of us dancing to prove it) but he still kicked our asses.

We had to leave right after the first game if we wanted to make it to Union station for the last GO train. When we got there, we saw that the next train was 45 mins away! We then headed to McD's to get something to eat, but they closed the gates right before our eyes. Luckily, there was a store still open. We bought drinks and a bag of Smart Food.

Ay 12:43 am, we caught the last GO train. I was cold, so I borrowed James' coat and fell alseep. When we got to our station, we were both too tired and cold to wait for a bus, so we took a cab from the GO station to James' house.

Saf took pics at the bar and she has sent me most of them. I will post them once they have been resized.

~James had his film shoot two weekends ago. It went well. I was continuity/person who took the actors to Shoppers Drugmart to get their makeup done. Ryan Marr has some pics he took while on set. He posted them on his web site. I will post some here as soon as I resize and upload them. The biggest difference between film and digial is that with film, you can't just go home and watch the rushes, it can be days or weeks until you finally get to see the footage you shot. It drives you mad!

In one day the weather changed that dramatically! It was actually cold on Friday. I have started wearing my coat to work now. The point is, that this weather reminds me of Saint John. I truly miss it and if I could ever get a decent job there, I'd move back in a heartbeat. James is trying his hardest to make me stay. I wish he'd move with me, then life would be perfect. We can't wait to get an appartment together. Just for the record, right now it is 7 degrees in SJ and 14 degrees here. Over and out.
